The purpose of a “.YSE” is primarily to store scenes (fader positions of aux sends, Buss sends, stereo out, effects’ settings and the like). YSE is Yamaha Studio Editor. What’s not so clear at first is why there is a YSE and a YSM (Yamaha Studio Manager) but I think it has to do with making your life easier. The Yamaha Studio Manager (“.YSM”) file is for saving and recalling your over-all routing and special scenario routings and parameters. Why? Because if you store those settings into individual YSE files, you have to go back into each one. I learned the hard way; do not store too in-depth settings into YSE files. Now my main important settings are stored in the YSM file and then I recall the YSE. This gives me the ability to make a concert list of YSE files and not have to sweat going into each one and change one setting if I decide to change a hardware setting in my IEMs for the musicians, for example. You have to have a plan with this Yamaha system and if you don’t use their software with a plan in mind, your life is not easy.

Phil - good question. I have never had to do what you describe, but it would involve printing SMPTE time code onto the ADAT, then I think it would work, because the yamaha could follow the time code?? Consult theDM 2000 manual, sorry. ....

To change layers in the software, open the Master strip (under Windows, or press cmd-1).

I don't understand why you have to setup and assign the ports every time you call up Studio Manager and why can't you full screen it. I know it's old software now, but it looks like it was written for 800x600vga. On a modern monitor, it's so hard to see with is low res graphics. Yamaha needs to sort this out as it's still the same in 2016!

Can the DM2000 sync with an ADAT (HD24 XR Hard Disc Recorder) to do automated mixes using the moving faders for level changes, etc. The light pipe cards would be for the ins and outs (to HD recorder). How would one connect them together for the automated mix. Thanks.......Phil

Choose the layer on the DM2000. This will change the layer in the Yamaha Studio Manager editor.

Hi, does this have monitor room calibration functions?

how did you get the console to control ProTools?
@PeteBuchwald6 жыл бұрын
Michael. The studio manager for CU Denver set that up. Scott R. Burgess can be found on social media, and the UCD website probably. It would be a form of HUI control (MIDI). But that's about all I can tell you.

Thanks man. Yeah I was looking for it as an HUI in Reaper which is my main DAW, but with no success
