The training exercises in this module makes it worth buying just for that. I’ve had mine 2 weeks and my playing is far tighter thanks to the way the unit monitors my progress and shows me where I’m weakest. No matter what beat you play, it will rate your accuracy on your strikes for snare, kick, Tom’s, hi hat, and crashes. The silicone pads feel great and the kick pad is a beast.

this is the mesh version. if you have the TCS version, just note that you play faster on silicone pads vs a real kit.

Very good review. Covers it all quite decently. 👍 Very attractive eDrum kit for sure. The DTX PRO module is definitely the most realistic sounding module in the under 1,000 price range, but it’s currently underused. It just hasn’t caught on enough yet, like the Roland TD-17 definitely has.

I like the Yamaha module so much better than Roland, which is quite sad, cause other I find Roland amazing.

I have noticed on many videos that the stick impact sound does not cut through when playing the bow of the ride cymbal. (0:17) Mainly just hearing the wash/overtones of the cymbal and not the sound of the tip of a stick hitting the cymbal. (Listening on my Neumann studio monitors.)

That might be related to positional sensing. The ride cymbal pad will give a brighter and more "pingy" sound when played close to the cup. When you play it closer to the edge, the sample will have a darker and more washy tone.

No kick pedal included, but it does include hi-hat and snare stand.
