Excellent video - thanks! However - I find from 2:36 to 3:38 to be confusing - I'm not sure what the issue was you pointed to, or what the solution was. But the overall direction of this video is excellent - thanks for revealing the capabilities of the EX5 Arpeggiator.

Thanks for watching! Yep, I just mumbled my way through this video without a script ;) The problem you spotted there is: You can tell the EX5 how to deal with notes that are not in the original Arp sequence you recorded. "non search" (the default) will play no note - so the result of my playing was a the EX5 played only the "C" of the arp sequence, because all other notes I played where different from the original sequence. By choosing "note up" the EX5 will search for the nearest note in an ascending order, so you'll hear an arpeggio that resembles the original sequence, but using the notes you played on the keyboard. It's a bit complicated to put in words. :-) I'll pin your comment.

Great info!! I wonder if any of these features made it into the Motif

Good question! I never used a MOTIF, but perhaps other viewers can shed a light on this?

Please make a video for a more voluminous recording of the tracks yamaha ex 5 , or where can you download the recording instructions? I have an instruction, but it doesn't say much about the recording.

Hi, thanks for watching! I don't know if I understood you correctly, you're asking about production techniques which result in a louder mix? I'm not an expert on that, but there may be a thing or two I could say. :)

Hi) How to record on 4 tracks. Drum drums, bass guitar, solos, pads.
@mr_floydst4 жыл бұрын
Hi, I think I already made those videos. First step: create a performance: kzbin.info/www/bejne/n3OkhYd5opmhrLM Then, use the built-in sequencer: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iKbJqaiZirtlgck Best regards!

No wonder I missed that feature.. when your manual is bigger than the old testament, you're in trouble.

That manual is quite chunky for sure. :) But it's also quite good!

Thank you for one more great EX5 video! BTW: I’ve heard that arps for MOTIF were created using EX5.

Very strange arpeggiator, it's behaviour is unpredictable. It's impossible to play that melody you want to play.
@mr_floydst2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. Ha, I totally forgot I made this video. I think it is predictable, but you need to plan the source material accordingly. The simpler your arpeggio, the more predictable the outcome. It's a bit like the reharmonisation feature on the QY devices, the software logic /general idea behind it seems to be the same.
