Anthony at Central Marine in Florida is point of contact for this motor if you are interested in one. Best price in the country as I have looked already. Delivery to local business or freight terminal was easy.

It's an awesome motor, the advertisement says it is faster than two stroke, well yes and no. The two stroke makes it power at lower rpm range. The 4 stroke has to spin up to 5500 to make the same power. If you can spin it up then get a smaller prop. It really shines at 4000 rpm, it will just sip fuel, even at 5500 it is used half the fuel of my 40. It's sold now.

I’ve had the same engine for a year and absolutely love it. Mine is the non electric start version, but im wanting to add a battery to run a fish finder. Any chance you can send me a pict or make a video of how the battery cables hook up to the outboard? Thank you, Ryan

I don't have the motor with me, shop has it for winter. Something about Yamaha sending a text from Japan to look at it. I have service manual will see if I can get info and post here if u want
@omieyouknowme6 жыл бұрын
I will have to wait till it comes back from shop. The service manual is a mess to sort out. So far all I can tell is it goes into a junction box on the starboard side if motor there is a relay with a 30a fuse that goes to starter itself then. The voltage regulator is also tied into this junction box so it needs back to battery but the relay prevents the starter from getting power.

I just bought one of these too...replaced my unreliable two smoke 2002 mercury 25 HP. I have the electric start with remote throttle and steering on my 11 ft. Whaler...great engine!

Mine is going back to shop tomorrow for winter. Per shop, Yamaha has to flash the ECU for some reason. They had another customer with exactly same symptoms, loss of power at elevation here in CO. Apparently someone from Yamaha has to come to Denver to do this.

Wow...good thing I have a 6 year warranty...hope it fixes your issues. I'm in VA on the Chesapeake, so maybe I'll be okay.

Pull start works with no battery hooked up? I have the same motor and love it. Haven’t tried starting it without the battery hooked up yet.
@omieyouknowme5 жыл бұрын
Yes pull start works without battery. Basically the flywheel turns either by the electric starter or rope, charges a capacitor which powers the Mitsubishi ecu. The ECU fires the injectors and coil, once you get combustion, the fuel pump comes on and that's it. I will post the sequence later, the service manual explains in detail the sequence of events.

Can you tell me what prop size comes standard on F25?
@omieyouknowme6 жыл бұрын
9x11 1/4 is std but Yamaha has 8-14" range. I am running a 9x8 for elevation where my Mercury ran a 10x9

What speed did you end getting out of the motor?
@omieyouknowme5 жыл бұрын
I am getting 22mph at 5600' with a 10" solas prop at 5800rpm, if I raise the motor up 1 inch I get 23mph but prop gets blow out. Will test with stock prop tomorrow. Test is with one person, two people I'm sure I will lose speed but my boat is on plane at 13mph
@hotrod985 жыл бұрын
I’m getting 28mph on my 1542 with all my gear. Completely empty boat would probably hit 30
@omieyouknowme5 жыл бұрын
@@hotrod98 anything above 15mph I'm happy as I make very little wake, also with considering how wide and heavy I am and being able to remove the motor by myself works out.
