Nice video, I think they both sound different, one is not necessarily better than the other. The laminate construction on the F310 naturally leads to a more lo-fi sound with lower mids whereas the D35 is very projecting with louder mids. This could also be due to the differences in the body shape and tonewoods used but overall you created a very nice comparison between the two!

Thank you very much for doing this video… The Martin D35 takes the cake absolutely fantastic fabulous complete overall sound…. The Yamaha 310 is left behind sorry. I now understand why the prices are vastly different, the 310 is around $200 while the Martin is close to $3000 I didn’t understand why now I know why.

Try to watch the yamaha LL16 ARE (899$) vs martin D28 (3100$). You’ll think twice to buy expensive guitar.

I like both sounds! The Martin has more mids that ring for a meatier sound and the Yamaha has more high ring for a brassier sound. Both are great!!

Martin has a great sound, however, Yamaha, it's not that bad at all

What's really close is FG800 to D18. I've owned both and they sound eerily similar.

Must be new strings. Daddario can make it sound like that but the tone dies fast. Elixir is coated, initially dull but lasts longer
