Came for the guitar, stayed for the playing. Excellent

This guitar has been the love of my life. Mine has seen a lot more play than this one. Mine has been played so much that the frets are curved out, it’s dinged all to hell, and the guy I got it from 20 years ago replaced the bridge in the 80s. I also have an FG-300 red label, and they compliment each other better than any combo I’ve personally heard. I mean it, someone could legit offer me anything in the world for my 150 and I wouldn’t take it. I play at least a couple hours every day for the most part and that guitar has been with me through so much that I have an unnatural attachment to it. I hope that some day when I’m dead and gone it finds someone who will feel the same way I do about it. I hope I’m not the last person who loves this instrument. I have never played a guitar I’d trade it for.

that's testament, I am shocked they are all laminate- but not just cheap plywood lam's - they REALLY are Spruce Tops- ...just 3 layers of Solid Spruce opposing at 90 degrees- ///the secret truth is- YAMAHA pioneered this laminate. system and they really STRUCK GOLD- they use a special glue system also- they actually may have SURPASSED the sound potential for a solid spruce top-they are more stable and have less ' Bellying' than old Gibsons- which are also prone to headstock twists- un=like quality but Yamaha's of the same early 70's era

I've also got a red label FG-150 I received from the original owner who bought it in high school late 60's/early 70's. And you're right man....the guitar really does have a personality of it's own. I don't think I'd ever part with her.

Ive got a Yamaha Fg150 about that age and its a boomer like yours. You played some of the greatest chord progressions that I've ever heard. Your playing was really great. Thank you .

I have one but it needs a neck reset unfortunately. It sounds great but these are notoriously difficult to do neck resets on.... Sadly

Hi there, do you have a website where you are selling these vintage Yamaha guitars?
I have an F150 red label Yamaha imported from Japan with original hard case. I might consider selling it for the right price. It's in excellent condition.

@@loripalmieri1205 Hi Lori. Thank you. I am interested but am going to look into the history of these Nippon Gakki Yamaha guitars first. I found a website that I think will give me more info. If the website is helpful, I will email you the link so you will have info to help make your decision. You might want to keep it afterall.
