I have now put this bike ahead on my list of 1400 concourse, st1300. Count down to buy. I don't see my self over 90 mph but you never know when , 145 plus on my old v65 sabre back in the day. You picked a place as safe for others as well as yourself. Good on you for that

Did you buy your FJR. I had the Concours 14 & while it was smoother it didn't handle as well as the FJR.

Larry Watkins Hi Larry,what do you mean "too much for me" I am tornen between the rt1100 and a fjr 1300 (gtr1400 too expensive for me) But actually i want to stick with the japanese for their reliability.I hears of some realibity issues eith the bmws Can u make me a comparison when you have time ? That would be very helpful

@@pippuzzu1981 I wanted a GTR14 for years and now that I have the money I got an fjr. GTRs are huge and cumbersome and the fjr is practically as fast (5mph top) and way too quicker to flick over. Handle way better from my research.

I"ve been driving my 04 since I got it new. Still in love with it. Ridden across America twice in all kinds of weather and it's as bullet proof as ever. Great machine. 150 mph indicated is probably more like 140. It'd be cool if you could do this kind of thing with the camera focused on a GPS. Just a thought.

1:36 gps hit 160 on my 03 the speedo reads out 170 true gps 167 (flash exhaust powerjet etc.

I've had my new 2018 up to 125. Had lots more and a sixth gear but that was enough for me at the time. Cool you had the nuts to rip it open.

Mike Fisher Know exactly what you mean, years ago I opened up my 01 FZ 1, at 143 I figured life is very precious and easily lost, never did that again.

I had my 2020 to 135. Oh yeah, the girlfriend was on there too. Still had plenty left. I'll top it out when I'm alone though. AWESOME bikes!!

Yamahas rule! My old FZ 1 was a absolute rocket ship, did 143 mph on the Northbound 15 just outside San Diego, steady as a rock at that speed!

1:37 = 159mph = 255kmh As "455Transam" Feb 2015, while glad he showed less road and more speedo than many other such videos, I regret he went a little over the board: I would prefer if he showed just a bit more of the road, if only to check he kept the inherent risk (for himslef as for others on the road) as low as possible. If only showing the speedo, then suffices to make the video on a bench Otherwise this video is great, my thanks to the uploader BTW this bike was the one (more precisely an Yamaha FJR1300 2001) on which David Holmes died on Sat 08 Jun 2013 in the junction of A47, Wood Lane, Berrys Lane, near Honingham, Norfolk, UK Thu 25 Feb 2016 15:34 GMT
