Do you know how they came up with the 700cc engine? Some say de stroked others say smaller bore?
@jh-tech5546
@jh-tech5546 Жыл бұрын
I have checked and the 700cc has a shorter stroke. It makes sense, I suppuse other crankshaft and longer con rods. So thay can use same other components like pistons, cylinder, head, cam chaint etc...

Hi, the spark plugs are DR8ES-L so the spanner size is 18mm. Thanks for you comment.

Hello Great Video! I am disassembling my FZ 750 to and now have a problem with the removal of the Black screw on the left side (the one who is blocking the view for the T where you can see the postiton of the cylinders). Do you have a trick for removing it? Thanks!

Hi, thanks for you comment. I would try using a large washer instead of a screw driver. Less chance of damaging. See how I thighten that in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aaHWhGCphZJopKs Good luck :)

I got almost done. The caps on the lifters got scrambled and put in a different order. So, I heard I have to feeler gauge something and adjust? How? What? Last phase of getting back together.
@jh-tech5546

I assume you mean adjusting the valve clearances. You can check a video on the YZF 750 I posted recently or you can find many info online. Good luck.

I just need head gasket replacement 91 fzr 600. It's this much work? I'd be better off just replacing whole engine with a ebay. I did that 3 years ago, wasn't that bad, but new used engine from massachusettes proved to be poor shape. Think paid $480.00. What do you think? Junk and give up?

The gap gauge part has me lost? will I have to pull engine out of bike?
@jh-tech5546
@jh-tech5546 Жыл бұрын
I think the head gasket can be replaced without removing the engine from the frame. Gap gauge is to measure valve clearances.
@tommyfield-q5w
@tommyfield-q5w Жыл бұрын
@@jh-tech5546 A lot of disassembly. How hard to put back together? How line up timing chain? The gap gauge at beginning is so know clearance on reassembly? Is there a way to leave valves attach and just pull head? All I need is that head gasket.

@@tommyfield-q5w, it is possible to remove / replace the fzr600 head with the engine in place. Setting the cam timing is very easy on the 600 engine

My 87 FZ700 is at 39,000 miles. It's due for a valve clearance check. Never done one before, is it possible to do it with the engine still in the bike?
@jh-tech5546
@jh-tech5546 Жыл бұрын
Hi. Yes, it is possible to do on the bike. I would advise removing the radiator and carbs for easy access.

Friend where did you purchase the engine rebuild kit?
@jh-tech5546
@jh-tech5546 Жыл бұрын
I had to order parts at different suppliers. There is no complete engine rebuild kit. Quite some parts from Yambits (gasket kit, cam chain, etc...) and some original parts from cmsnl (piston rings, pins, ...).

Hello. I have a little question . Namely, I mean Yamaha yzf750R..
@jh-tech5546
@jh-tech5546 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, and the question is? As far as I know the YZF750R engine is from the same architecture. So a lot of similarities. But since it is newer it has a lot of improvements and some parts will be different. But from an assembly point of view similar.

Forgive me that it reply so late. My question to remove the cover under which the screws from the are located head. You have to dismantle the valves.
@jh-tech5546
@jh-tech5546 2 жыл бұрын
he valves themselves are attached to the head. So if you only remove that cover wich is the housing of the camshafts the valves stay in place. The only thing you need to remove are he buckets from the valves. At least it is like that on the FZ but I think it is the same on an YZF. I hope this answers your question.

Trying to put back together. I changed that engine before, having trouble putting back. I pulled that bolt half out for some reason that hold back wheel on, now it won't go back in.

also, lost bolts that hold bottom side bar, engine cartage, can't find right size.

Got both. PB blast lubricant and swing bolt slip right on. Even manual didn't have bolt and pitch. A AI called deepai gave me size, pitch and length and got at regular hardware store. That ai sight amazing.

Putting back together what thought blown head gasket. Gasket not blow and just tightening the head bolts would of probably resolved. Big job, waste of time. It's was ten times easier putting a entire engine in in one piece, then this tear down. Waste of time. My recommendation is instead of tear down, just replace engine as a whole.
@jh-tech5546
@jh-tech5546 4 ай бұрын
Yes, replacing the engine is much faster and can be cheaper. You just have to be sure the engine you get is in good condition. For me it was also as hobby so I don't mind spending the time.

@@jh-tech5546 Got engine together, haven't put together enough to see if run. Now, my son lost all frame bolts when he moved bike when I was out of town. What size are those front frame, 13mm or 15mm? Only that one long bar on bottom of engine for mount? Keep looking for diagrams online but nothing clear enough to help.
