Good review.However I have some questions? How is the refinement of the engine??? Is highway speed of 110 to 115kmph possible all day long without vibration. At wat RPM does the vibration really kicks in? I have heard that that footpegs and handle bars do come alive at 7k Rpm how did u feel since u had couple of high rpm rides on this bike? 2. At wat RPM does it achieve 100 to 110kmph speed? 3. You r relatively light but how good wud be the ground clearance of the bike if say it is loaded with 180 to 200 kg of wegiht. Do you think it will hit the bumpers? Plz reply the question in sequence wise. Thanks.
@RideWithRahulOfficial7 жыл бұрын
+haston lobo yes there are vibrations at 7000 RPM I wear thick gloves and boots so I feel vibrations lesser but it's there. RPM at 100kmph I don't remember you can find from the video, ground clearance will only be an issue of the speedbreakers are too high. Can do all day riding but torque feels a bit low for the long highway rides.

Nice review. I have cbr250 abs model. Thought of buying FZ250 for my brother by selling FZ16 and RX135. Would you suggest FZ250 over CBR250 for 70% highway and 30% city rides? Budget is 1.5lks.
@hastonlobo57387 жыл бұрын
CBR 250 Anytime if 70 percent highway riding is wat u gonna do. CBR 250 is a great bike for touring. It has excellent mid range power and a very sustainable top end performance. Not very friendly in city traffic coz of very poor low end torque. Most importantly it has ABS so worth it.

I don't understand why the FZ 25 is being compare to the Duke 250. Displacement is not everything. I don't think anyone would compare the Ninja 650 to a Ninja ZX-6R 636 just because they have near identical displacement. I think the proper competitors of this bike are the Bajaj NS 200 and the TVS Apache 200. Duke 250 and CBR 250 is not only more expensive but also way more technically advanced than this bike.
@madhavan5667 жыл бұрын
Shubham Mukherjee absolutely correct....Fz25 is not even close to Duke 200
@nathggnath7 жыл бұрын
Tat because fz 25 is faster than d 200 and 0-100 on par with d 250 nothing else...
@shubhammukherjee48307 жыл бұрын
gokul nath no way...Duke 200 has significantly higher power to weight ratio than FZ. And Duke 250 has a marginally better power to weight ratio than Duke 200 itself. So please explain how on earth can FZ be faster or at par with any of the Dukes
@nathggnath7 жыл бұрын
Actually that makes the fz 25 special... Even with less power on paper it is unbelievably powerful than d200 and 0-100 on par with d250. 0-100 comes in around 8.5 sec. Which is almost 1 sec quicker than d200 and almost matches d250. Dont know how..but thats the truth. Just check the reviews .. U have to believe it.

How is the illumination of the stock headlight ? What about the wind blast at speeds beyond 100, considering that the bike is not very heavy, won't it wobble due to cross winds on the highway ?
@RideWithRahulOfficial7 жыл бұрын
+StupendousSays cross winds depends on chassis as you know some very heavy bike like Thunderbird also struggle a lot against crosswinds but Duke 390 doesn't. This bike did pretty good managing winds on the highway and it was a very windy day, the stock headlights are good but for night touring I would prefer 2 small LED aux lights added to this.

Having ridden for longer kms, do you think there is a heat factor that comes in between Duke 250 and Fz25? which one do you think is better here?
@RideWithRahulOfficial7 жыл бұрын
I rode the Duke 250 in city traffic where it stayed pretty cool and this bike also didn't heat up at all. Long riding on the highway never heats up the Duke even, all the heating is there on the city traffic, having tested the Duke 250 it felt a lot better than my duke 390 (2013) version and this one also didn't heat up at all.

Ride With Rahul today i went to yamaha showroom and man Fz25 really looks so good in flesh. Duke 250 is too costly for what it offers it is close to 1.90 lacs on road so i think i would go for Fz25 why to spend almost 50K bucks just for duke tag 390 duke 2017 justifies the price what it offers but duke 250 just for looks alone naah i dont think so. well Fz25 is a winner for me

i am planning to purchase this bike. do you have any data to back up your verdict? when i rode it i thought throttle response was immediate. even on duke 390 you have to wind it up to 5000 rpm before power kicks in. also do you have roll on timings ?
@RideWithRahulOfficial7 жыл бұрын
+Vaibhav Pisal I don't have roll on timings, and yes the Throttle response from 0 is immidiate but in the low rpm suddenly when we want power there is a gap and after that it comes in. It's there in the Duke 250 as well but much more prominent here. The Duke 390 is a lot more immediate. But this should not be compared against the Duke 390. The thing is this bike has a narrower powerband and achieves the acceleration with light weight and bigger sproket, but that won't work everywhere in the rev range. Still for the price I think it's the best.
@vaibhavpisal7 жыл бұрын
Ride With Rahul it has a narrow power band? i remember my 2 stroke yamaha rx135 had needle thin power band. that was reason why it was such hooligan. hell used to break loose in power band. this bike has much more linear acceleration than that one. this bike is fast. if its doing 0-100 in 8.5 sec, power is coming at some rpm and lots of it. my guess is it has low but sufficient power at all rpm. if you think it has narrow band, can you define rpms where power is max so i will check it out.
@RideWithRahulOfficial7 жыл бұрын
+Vaibhav Pisal I felt it was good after 4500 rpm but being in a higher gear the roll on acceleration dropped. (I know it drops in every bike) but I felt it more in this one. Compare to the CBR 250, ride them side by side and it's very evident.
@vaibhavpisal7 жыл бұрын
Ride With Rahul i test rode my friends bike again. ample power was present from 3000 to 7000 rpm. didnt felt it rising only after 4500 rpm. either your bike was faulty or you are suffering from confirmation bias that 20 bhp bike cant be good.

@RideWithRahulOfficial7 жыл бұрын
It's a big speculative comment right now since the mandatory ABS thing is not being enforced somehow by the govt. when that law will come to effect is hard to guess, and even harder to guess if we will get a backward compatibility, I would still say that if the law comes then backward installation should be possible, however, I am very doubtful about that law coming into place.

And what about the engine men does it feels good in highway and about topspeed
@aakashchoudhuri18507 жыл бұрын
Hey Rahul, I saw that the beast you're riding was a pretty new one. And man, you were definitely revving the engine brutally hard. Isn't that too early ? I mean this can fry up the piston rings and cause a permanent damage, thereby shortening the lifespan of the engine. Could you please let me know on this aspect ? Take care & ride safe. All the best.
@RideWithRahulOfficial7 жыл бұрын
+AAKASH CHOUDHURI it doesn't do anything as extreme as fry up rings but yes it can make the bike a little less smooth, but the owner before me has already done several top speed runs on the bike, the way I did it was to ride it sanely most of the time and go full power only for 3 mins at the end. The best part of testing any engine is you can go full power and not damage it if you vary the throttle and keep the top speed runs limited to 2 mins, for a top speed test that is enough. Still on my next video the Duke 390 you will see that I have not ridden the bike that hard.
@aakashchoudhuri18507 жыл бұрын
Thanks for taking time to reply. The fact is when people see your videos, not many will ever think about this. Since you're experienced, you'll know that before the break-in of a new engine, the revs need to be varied more frequently. But since we have a lot others who fail to have a specific mindset, they will for sure take a heavy toll of their new engines. I would better suggest you to mention these things during the progress of the video or else if people encounter any malfunction (for riding say 15-20 mins at the redline), they will just defame you. And it would be very sad for an expert like you to earn bad reputation because of less knowledgeable folks. All the best for your upcoming videos. Happy and safe riding....!!!
@RaviOnline7 жыл бұрын
Idiots who do not read the owner's manual and decide to rip their bikes 'coz of a youtube video specifically made to test the bike's performance, and despite the reviewer not asking them to do so, deserve every bit of engine misery that's about to come their way.. What's next? Should he also put a disclaimer on not to brake suddenly as you may get rear-ended? How about not to exceed a certain lean angle when he was taking those turns? Or how about not to blip the throttle as you may get a wheelie? Your argument is really stupid bro..

Which one will you suggest for a beginner CBR 250r abs or FZ25 abs(2019)? considering their’s power delivery. I am specifically asking this to you, since you told that they are beginner friendly in both of their’s review by you.
@RideWithRahulOfficial6 жыл бұрын
The CBR feels far more refined and better built, but the FZ is considerably cheaper.
@sandeep-lr4ek6 жыл бұрын
As a beginner fz25 is best bro...yamaha and honda are almost same refinement and reliability..cbr is too costly. I think its not worth for money. You can buy duke 250 abs (2019)instead cbr

Very Honest review. U r right. short riders have to lean forward. I am 5.5 n find seats uncomfortable on my fz25. Also as per review power feels less.

Good review. Now that ABS is mandatory and this bike will get an ABS version for about 1.5lakh, What bike would you suggest for a beginner rider mainly focusing on daily commute and occasional touring within 2lakh budget. CBR250r, FZ25, Duke 250, or maybe the Dominar 400? All ABS versions.
@sandeep-lr4ek6 жыл бұрын
IllumiNaughty fz25 os best bro..its very nimble and agile in traffic and its very comfortable for long rides, cbr is also good option but manuvering in traffic is not as easy as naked bikes. Its only better for touring, duke 250 is good but its beyond your budget, if you compramise with a best quality and reliability dominar is best fit for you.. everything depends on your usage and reliability etc etc...

How was the engine behaving at high speeds with regards to vibration..... u rode a couple of times in and arnd 90 to 105 kmph..... Was it vibrating..... Can it sustain speeds of 100 to 110 all day long without the engine getting stressed......
@RideWithRahulOfficial7 жыл бұрын
+haston lobo yes it can, there are vibrations but if you wearing riding gears won't be much of an issue, but this doesn't feel like the typical smooth Yamaha
@hastonlobo57387 жыл бұрын
That was exactly my concern..... Coz of its two valve set up I doubted it wud be that refined.....
@kshitijjaiswal30227 жыл бұрын
haston lobo the bike can cruise at 100 to 110 pretty smooth above 120 the vibration starts
@hastonlobo57387 жыл бұрын
Kshitij Jaiswal Thanx bro...... R u sure..... Coz I am planning to buy it.... Coz I wanted a bike that can cruise 100 to 105 butter smooth..... Vibration over 120 is acceptable.....

9:47 You mistook the 5th gear to be a 6th gear it does not have a 6th gear, it has 5 gears and the 5th one is really tall.
@RideWithRahulOfficial7 жыл бұрын
Yes, that was a mistake on my part, it does have 5 gears. I didn't check any other specs or reviews, I just went with what I felt. I guess since it doesn't have gear position indicator, I was just moving through the gears, never noticed it has one less... I honestly never thought Yamaha will give a 5 speed gearbox on this whereas even the R15 has 6 gears.
@rajdip927 жыл бұрын
I think yamaha has done this because as the bike comes with just 20 bhp power & 20nm of torque it could be distributed well among 5 gears rather than 6. Even in the launch event they mentioned this as a street bike with good fuel efficiency and strongly emphasized on city usability rather than highway touring, maybe the inclusion of a 6th gear would have pushed the top speed by another 7-8kmph more and made the top end a bit more relaxed but that would have compromised on the low end power. Even tvs did the same with the apache 200v. Overall a nice review but in my opinion i think this bike cannot be compared with the duke 250 or the cbr 250, one is pure naked streetfight built for pure performance and the other is a fullyfaired sports tourer. I think the fz 25 is a powerful commuter with streetfighter looks made for city usages with a good fuel efficiency .The main competitors of the fz 25 are the pulsar 200 ns/as and the apache 200v

Hlo buddy . I'm planning t buy a bike in under 1.5 k mark , n my priorities are 1 - Engine reliability 2 - Speed 3 - low maintenance 4 - Decent milege in between 32-40 My picks are rs 200 non abs variant, Fz25 n , NS 200 .. recently I went t Bajaj n yamaha showrooms n test rode all these three machines . I found ns a bit quicker than the rs ( I don't know Mey b bcoz f the lesser weight tho ) n evn i liked the newly launched fz25 acceleration n found its engine a little bit more refined than bth the bajaj bikes tho they war preety refined too . Today I meet 1 of my friend who's owning a 2016 model rs 200 n clocked around 18 k kms on it , he's facing some issues in his bik , The low end acceleration has almost gone , battery s also making issues time n again , drop in power while he's riding n between 40 -80 . So please suggest me which one should I go for . @ current I m having a Royal enfield thunderbird 350 n wnna upgrade t a lesser cc affordable sports bike .

+Mohammed Noor they Duke 390 is best for touring, but the budget is not under 2 lakhs. The 250 lacks an ABS so I would not have that for touring.

Can I have linear power delivery above 110kms per hour similar to cbr250 which cruises with ease? I mean I should not fell the power loss above 110kms per hour if I ride constantly over 110.

Jayavardhan c since its air cooled showroom people told in continuous run there will reduction in power because of engine heat. That's the major advantage of liquid cool. Coolant has to be topped up during every service.
