I gotta say. You have no idea how much all your videos have helped me and my wallet. Of all my years of KZbin, you have become my absolute favourite. Thank you

pushing down the rear wheel is a great idea thanks!

I love your idea of weighing down the back end with containers full of water inside the top box. Beats my concrete block on the rack method.

I have to thank you for the perfect instructions on how to do it.. only the spring that is inserted into the shock absorber has the more wound side down..

Was the oil weight you chose good? Many shops here in Greece sugest to use a heavier one, like 10W or even 15W.I weigh 70 kilos.Thanks.

With the center stand, why not just use a scissor jack and bbit of wood under the downpipes? Works a treat.
@Calvinm Жыл бұрын
Yep that would work just fine.
@Rancid_Ninja2 ай бұрын
Didn't think of that, I'll use my harbor freight jack and some wood when the time comes cause I don't have that rear rack storage thing

Hi Calvin. I've been following your video's for quite some time, and to tell you honestly: very impressive job. Keep up. My question for you is: can I change preload fork caps without taking the front end apart(disassembly forks).I would like to change my standard caps with: CNC Shock Absorber Screw Fork Cover Cap Preload Adjusters Bolts for Yamaha XVS 1100 650 XT 400 600 XJ 6N 600 FZS 600 Fazer Red 🤔 Thank you in advance,Des
@Calvinm2 жыл бұрын
Hey Des, yes you can swap out the caps without taking the fork leg out of the bike. I would recommend loosening the top clamp that holds the fork leg to the fork crown before loosening the top cap. Thanks for the kind words! 👍

@@Calvinm Thank you Calvin. Most likely will bother you sometime again. Till then, stay good and well!😅🤔👍

Don't forget to loosen the top pinch bolt before trying to loosen the fork cap. That bolt puts pressure on it making it hard to undo, and more likely to damage the parts. Same can be said to tighten the cap, doit first then the top pinch. Cheers.
@h4xi0rek3 жыл бұрын
I also thought that you can use the axle as leverage to open this cap after removing the fork - just put it into the opening on the bottom of the fork leg and hold with your feet while undoing the top nut.
@tiagovarandasyt3 жыл бұрын
@@h4xi0rek the problem with using the axle is that the fork tube is not captive to the rest of the leg, which will allow the tube to spin inside.
@h4xi0rek3 жыл бұрын
@@tiagovarandasyt thanks for the info, did not think this through :)
@N269 Жыл бұрын
@tiagovarandasyt Absolutely - not loosening that top pinch bolt can severely mark up the top bolt and make the job look like a stoopid amateur did it especially with an adjustable. (Gotta luv the fact he opens the fork over a huge sheet of cardboard and drops the oil laced spacer and top nut on the concerete floor, then pours the oil into a funnel no bigger than the fork itself - no one would ever think of using an oil pan or a dish pan... no, not even an option)

Hi Calvin. Des again, with annoying question (🤔😅). Do you have any experience and if so ,recommendations for steering damper which will fit 2006 FZ6 Fazer without any modifications? Thank you ,Des
@Calvinm2 жыл бұрын
I haven’t got a steering damper before. I think ohlins makes a steering damper that works with the FZ6. I think any damper requires some attachment point to the steering assembly that the FZ6 doesn’t come with from factory.

What is that rear luggage case you have? I have a Nelson Rigg soft case but it attaches to the passenger part of the seat. Yours looks like you could still run a passenger and have the storage on at the same time.
@Calvinm2 жыл бұрын
I’m using a Shad system. It does leave room for a passenger. The top case even comes with an optional provision for a back support for the passenger. I made a video on the cases I’m using. I’ll link it below. Highly recommend them! Link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/kGi2o4eparqWq6s
