Hello Chris! I`m facing difficulties with my gearbox. I`m trying to shift through gears like you at 8:50 but mine will simply not shift from first gear. The gearbox did shift normally before and did shift similarly to your video. But i had to remove the shafts to install new bearings and now it simply wont budge. Shift forks are in good condition and the shiter drum well lubricated. Did you start assembly when the shift drum is at first gear position or neutral? To my understanding the neutral position is the one tooth with half tooth? please advice.

Do you still have the gearbox open? Are the bearings sitting properly (all the way onto the axle) the way they are suppose to? Are the forks sitting properly on the gear shift drum? In the order they suppose to?

@@ChrisSofos yes the gearbox is still open.i wont start full assembly unless I`m 100% sure everything is correct. The bearings are sitting firmly in their place and the half ring is in place in every slot.the pins are in their position too. Bearings are yamaha genuine parts. The shift forks are in correct order and correct orientation (on the shaft) according to a parts list and manual. The knob at the bottom of the shift forks are sliding nicely in the grooves without the axle. But when i put the axle back and place the forks in their gears and in to the groove suddenly the shift mechanism is jammed. And To mention that the primary axle isn`t even placed and it is still stuck. The center fork isnt binding the drum either.

@alexhellx8897 try put both shafts on and then see what happens. Remember that the gear lever is not on for you to easily change gears either. So changing gears by hand might take extra effort

@ oh man.. do i feel silly right about now. The secondary shafts one gear was incorrectly put in place and imanaged to install it. After i changed the orientation of this one gear everything started working again. Thank you for your advice! Your videos are greatly helping my fzr project!
