YAMAHA FZR 250R 1989

I own a 3LN1 like this but different colour scheme . I wouldn't ride anything else as I learnt on a black and red 2KR and it reminds me of my younger years . My FZR 250 has sentimental value and at 5ft 6in tall this model fits me like a glove .The mechanic in the video makes the 3LN1 look a bit small . He would look better on the 750 or 1000cc versions .

Does sound a bit rough at low rpm. Pilot jets a bit blocked more than likely.

None of these inline fours sound clean revving unless "EVERYTHING" has been checked over if newly acquired second hand due to their age . Carburettor rebuilds can make a real difference .Mine is royal blue and gold custom colour scheme and is one of the cleanest sounding 3LN1's you are likely to find . I only ride her at the track now as I don't trust illiterate motorists on my local roads that cause accidents . These motorcycles are few and far between where I am from . Especially mine which is immacculate .

New pilot needles made to size from brass rod . I have machined up and honed mine to revised size with good results as Keyster ones aren't always to tolerance .

None of this family of motorcycles had fuel injection but an array of four carburettors with a slide that you synchronise when setting them up .The first Japanese motorcycle with fuel injection as standard was the 2003 CBR 1000 .

This model generates 40 horsepower at the rear wheel . My 3LN1 from 1989 is royal blue and gold . Riding her at the track is comparable to sexual pleasure ! Mine is in tip top condition .
