Ik wil een paar styles maken van een midifile en deze video maakt het al veel helderder. Dit is wel een zeer knap stukje software van Yamaha waarvan ik blij ben dat ze dat ontwikkeld hebben. Maar er vlot kunnen mee werken is dikwijls een ander paar mouwen! Daarom is deze video zo waardevol, zeker als je nog moet aan beginnen zoals ik! thanks for this tutorial..this a very big help for a musician but can you upload a video about the tutorial using the snap or grit on the measurement because some of my midi has a problem on the accuracy of the cut of the measurement for the variation..some of them are not exactly on the measurement..hope you can help me

Great video and thanks for the link to the software! A great surprise to find it is available for use with Genos 1 via USB. I have tried a few files but I am finding the conversion to be less than ideal. It seems to take very small chunks of the midi files for sections and not what I would expect for the main parts - these often seem to be short clips of the introductions. I will keep experimenting and learn the edit functions as well to try and fix some issues. But - what an amazing tool! Thanks for the great and helpful introduction to this Qui.

Hello Qui, thanks for this interesting video. I didn't know that styles for Yamaha can also be used on Korg. Or did I miss something? Why don't you have to choose another file format when exporting the style for Korg? The tool seems to do a great job. I've never used midi files but with such a tool I should perhaps get some and convert them to styles.

Thank you very much for the video, it is very interesting, it clarifies concepts and solves errors that I have not found in other tutorials. I have a problem that I haven't found a solution to on any forum and I don't know who to ask. After converting many MIDI files to style, I convert them to SFF1, to load it on my Tyos 2. The style works correctly but the problem is that when playing minor chords, the style changes the time signature, the drums, etc., and it sounds completely out of time , and even new sound effects that were not heard before play. Maybe the problem is converting from SFF2 to SFF1? In case something like this has happened to you or you know how to solve it, I would greatly appreciate it if you could give me a possible solution. When I try to save to instrument (Pa5X) I get an error that it is not available on my instrument. I can play the MIDI file through the Pa5X via this utility though. So I saved it to a .sty file, and copied that to my SD1 drive on the Pa5X, but I cannot find out how to load the style. All the User banks are empty still. How do I get the style into a user bank? I found that I can go to User .. drive, select the drive I copied the sty to and open that folder containing the sty files, but it is not appearing. Just blank.

Qui - as a Korg Kronos expert do you know whether I could use mine as the Midi Output device to listen to the styles (ie with it being a GM play back device). I am not sure I can trigger the style or indeed midi files to play directly over the Kronos as simply the playback device with it set up in GM mode in the global setting and in sequencer mode. Any thoughts on this from you would be appreciated (I am going to give it a go now!)- thanks Steve

Hello! No matter how hard I tried to hear the sound, there was none. I did everything according to the instructions, downloaded the playlist from the official Yamaha website. At 1.25 minutes you have a choice of complete control - 1 as well as 7 more different choices. I only have Focusrite USB Midi and generic USB Midi. How can I make the program see my korg pa5x. Any suitable midi files? The problem is that I load midi files, but there is no sound at all. Do you need any additional drivers? I don't find them on the official Korg website for Korg pa5x.

As explained in the video, the pa5x uses the generic usb midi driver, there is no voicelist for the korg pa5x, you don't need it for general midi files, the midi program changes is an international standard. Keep in mind that this program is for yamaha keyboards only, to modify the yamaha style you have to follow the steps after that which i have explained in the yamaha to korg styles tutorial.

Hoi Qui. Interessante video. Ik probeerde het programma te downloaden maar kwam steeds op de Nederlandse site terecht waar ik het niet kon vinden. Uiteindelijk via een Duitse muziek vriend het programma kunnen downloaden, Echter ik zie bij min 0.45 waar je het hebt over ander instrument dan Genos2 jij de Voice List voor de Genos hebt gebuikt. Ik zie ook een een txt file Yamaha.Genos.txt. In mijn download komt deze niet voor. Heb je deze apart gedownload en zo ja, vanaf welke site.

There is no way to convert a sound(wav file) to a midi yet. But a "style" it is a different thing.A style is a midi too. Style and midi are not sounds but computer data which tell the computer or the instrument what to do(what to play).

yes you can do this, but keep in mind that the style created is for the yamaha arrangers, so you always have to modify the labels in your daw to the pa4x or pa5x standard so that you can import it in the korg. See my yamaha styles to korg tutorial for how to do this

It does not work for PA5x even if I do a Style conversion from Yamaha to PA4x using Style Works XT Universal and save the conversion as a .set folder. Nothing gets converted to a .kst format. PA5x owners are still left wanting when it comes to create styles from midi files🤔. KORG promises are not forthcoming

as mentioned in the video, if you create the genos style with this program then just rename the style file to a midi file and rename the yamaha labels to korg labels. Just follow the explanation from my yamaha styles to korg tutorial.

@@quirobinez Thank you for your explanation Qui, managed to get it to work perfectly even needing to reassign the Marker Positions for PA5x worked out perfectly before exporting the Midi to the PA5x 👍👍👍

Je kunt op youtube automatisch engelse videos in het nederlands laten ondertitelen, dat kan ook voor mijn videos. Dat doe je door in de video op het CC symbool te klikken. Om de vertaling naar het nederlands in te schakelen klik je op het tandwieltje op de video en daar kies je automatisch vertalen naar het nederlands. Dat werkt dus voor alle engelstalige videos op youtube
