Really looking forward to this build, Yamaha deals are hard to find and it looks like you got a good one. Continue with the step by step video detail and information in all of your future videos because that is the way I learn. Speaking of a possible bad crankshaft, I finished a video last weekend on removing the crankshaft on a 787 engine and I can't tell if the crank is bad or not. I thought it would be full of rust, but it looks good to the eye. The question is bearing noise, how much is too much? Some are totally quiet and a couple you can hear when spun. I have heard that bearing noise doesn't always mean bearings are bad, but I don't know what is true. So, I'm interested in seeing the crank you pull from this Yamaha.

Ok go watch Erickson machine and performace channel. He did a video showing how to check those bearings out of the ski using compressed air to spin the bearings. Clean them all first and have them dry before you do the test so you dont sling solvent everywhere. He also has great info on how to "read your plugs and set the carb needles. Of course the problem is you cant simply adjust many carbs without pulling them. Keep those videos coming. I havent built a seadoo engine yet. There are plenty of low cost skis in Alabama on FB marketplace btw. Way less expensive than here in GA. Great source for cheap parts. I know your wife may not want more skis in the yard though.

Just picked up a 03 gp1300r in the Chicago area and it had water in the electronics box right under the seat. After inspection a power wire corroded off must’ve been full of water for awhile. Connected the wire back up and let it dry out and ski runs good now looks like gp1300 are the deals rn

That's not a oil return line it is just a vent because the oil pump gets some air from running so it pushes very little oil up that line

What a dumb way for someone to ruin this. Just found the oil tank line in mine with a bolt jammed in it.

This one is missing the plastic fitting that allows it to go into that oil tank line I showed. You can easily get that fitting at any auto parts store. You can probably access it from the front without removing the exhaust as well.

I have three good 1200 cylinders and 2 good gp1300r pistons. I dont have a cylinder. Call Ericksons machine in NJ or TCH watersports in Eatonton Ga.

@@shannonwilliams601 ericksons is a machine shop He proved to me that even though my cylinder had a completely missing part on the bottom all it needed was a sleeve and it would be fine. He also has some parts on hand. The other place, TCH has an entire junkyard full of jet skis. You can also try the jet ski store in florida and PWC engines in NY.

@@shannonwilliams601 my gp1300r cylinder had an ear knocked off the bottom. Ericksons sleeved it and said it would be fine. It is in my ski working perfectly.
