Should you be using 3000 lbs rope on a 3500 lbs winch? Just wondering, I bought the same rope for my 2500 winch on my kodiak, but the winch died before I installed it, so I got the same winch as you. I am hesitant to use the rope now.

Thanks for the view and question! Here are the specs on the rope from H.F. Tools 4700 lb. breaking strength, winch capacities from 2000 lb. to 3500 lb. So it does fall within the application of this winch but I still do somewhat agree with you too. Time will tell how it holds up after all it all comes from the land over yonder and HF likes to over embellish the descriptions from to time hahaha. Cost was key for me as I don't really plan on abusing this winch in severe conditions as I'm not going to be beating the quad up. Will do some tests on it in the future for fun though!
