Very clear and helpful, thanks. Mines not quite as smooth as it could be on the slow, initial 1% throttle opening, leading me to believe one or two bodies are kinda dragging the others open. I'm being really picky though. Will give this a try.

At risk of being a nit-picker, the Yamaha service manual calls this procedure "Intake Air Pressure Synchronization". Then in the "New Features" supplement to the manual they cover "Throttle Body Synchronization". During "Throttle Body Synchronization" you adjust the angle of the butterfly valves relative to one another until you get equal vacuum in each inlet. I don't know how you can make those adjustments since the relevant adjuster screw heads face inwards towards the engine block and are inaccessible. I guess, if the throttle bodies are seriously out of synch, you'd have to remove them and do the "Throttle Body Synchronization", visually, on the bench. And then fine tune using the "Intake Air Pressure Synchronization" as you cover it here.

@@roadracingrelics Would you like me to change the title of this video to " Intake air pressure synchronization" ? Would this satisfy you ?

@@Adikxx Did I appear dissatisfied? I'm interested in this stuff and I appreciate your video. I'm just pointing out that there's a bit more to it. Maybe another of your viewers can provide some insight into the difference between the two synchronization procedures?
