Probably a good thing to invest in a breaker bar and a torque wrench. Makes getting those tight bolts off way easier

We had a hot summer (+33,7 Celsius at one day), so I decided to use Champion 20W50 oil in my XJ600N. Another reason is that I don't drive at winter, so 20W50 should be really good at summer. Maybe I'll get some supermoto 10W60 oil for next time.

I have never removed the exhaust for oil filter change. With the right tool, absolute no problem. btw nice bike, I have one too, but please do a little better cleaning.

Hi mate Does the xj400 take the same filter cof203? And same volume of oil ?
@hosuandreiremus6 жыл бұрын
Yes, the XJ400 takes the same oil filter. With regards to the volume of oil, that is difficult to say. You just have to go by the oil level side glass on the engine. The reason for that is because when you drain the oil you will never manage do take out all the oil. But I suggest you have at least 2.5 liters of oil at hand.

I have one of those, and what do you think pulls a lot of oil from the oil filter and from the head that can be done?
@hosuandreiremus4 жыл бұрын
Not sure I understand the question. I assume you want to drain all the oil. In that case, what you can do is turn over the engine slowly whilst the oil is draining. this ensures that most oil galleries are empty and most of the oil drains out. However, after you fill your engine you need to turn it over to pre-lube it before starting it as there will be components that are not lubricated correctly.

@@hosuandreiremus it's a very bad idea but there is other people showing this in some youtube videos But it can damage the engine (which runs without oil) so for one or two oil drops this is not so bad to let them inside the engine In fact maybe those two drops will explain new ones how it feels to live in a motorcycle until a bottle 🤔 There is one reason for each to do and one reason for each not to do so .... Try to decide now 😅 You're video is very nice I just hadn't energy to skip and it's a good video really keep going on V

20w50!!!!!!!!!
@dwaynegraafland3812 Жыл бұрын
Is that better than 10w40 for this motorcycle?
@marekprime_2 ай бұрын
@@dwaynegraafland3812 it depends on the temperature you ride at, 20w50 will be excellent for hot summer but as soon as temperatures drops, it will go bad in short time. 10w40 is a good all-year rounder as it will tolerate temperatures below that of 20w50 but may cause overheating issues on the faired diversion as it will reduce airflow to the oil exchanger
