I have had an LS16 since 2015 or '16 and received it as a gift from my husband. I learned to play on this instrument, and in 2024, it still sounds and looks beautiful. I have other guitars, but each time I play this guitar I ask myself why I thought I needed another!

I am fortunate enough to have the LS16, Rosewood and it is a fine luxury instrument exceeding all expectations. Additionally, the body thickness is wider than an OM, or 000 which was mention in the video.

I've been watching & listening through high quality earphones to reviews until my eyes are falling out and my brain is boggled. FG & FS 3's & 5's, Martin 00010e, Yamaha AC5's, Taylor 214ce walnut, Cort gold series Yamaha LL16R & M, Martin Jr Dred', and now finally I have found one I can live with. My first all solid wood. Thank you for helping me find the Yamaha LS-M. It has become a real problem for customers to try guitars in person with fewer musical instrument shops now. We are forced to buy without trying first. In my state in Tasmania Australia, we have on shop in the Sth & one in the Nth with a 5 hour drive between. And then little stock to choose from. If not for your review I'd be stuck. Great playing Q, just my style & showed the LS at its best. ❤Kat'

Sorry, gents, the L does not stand for luxury, it's for Luthier. The 16's are the first step of their Luthier line which is above their amazing Red Label line. L's were top of the line until Yamaha's most recent flagship release, the new FG9.
@chadkelley

Do you know if this model line is made in Japan?
@Joe_Montfort
@Joe_Montfort Жыл бұрын
Kudos for the clarification of the "L." And yes, while the FG9 is currently Yamaha's halo model, it's not their most expensive. The L56 series costs more, and the price of the top of the line GC classicals are more than twice the FG9's price. Yamaha has long made some amazing high-end stuff that too often goes unrecognized.

Great guitar. I have the LS16 rosewood (and the LL16D rosewood). Glad you reviewed this guitar, but to be honest, the guy playing it is too heavy handed (maybe he's a banjo player ; '). Anyway, you talked about the warmth of the guitar, but I didn't hear any warmth the way it was played. Maybe the mic/setup you're using is part of the problem?
@dougrobbins5367
@dougrobbins5367 11 ай бұрын
No, you complain too much. The guy's playing is fine, it's good actually. Sound of the guitar is excellent. Since you have such good taste, post a video of your playing, and we can all learn from a superior player. Maybe.

I feel the Yamaha A5R and A3R have a better sound than this model. Much warmer, deeper and less boxy sounding. I’m generally not a fan of Englman spruce, not sure if that is the issue for me here. This one has 1 3/4” nut, A models 1 11/16” nut.
