If you're looking at going wireless, the latency on this is pretty good. I've got some demos in the video of it running on iOS iPad, Mac OS Sierra, Akai MPC Live and an Android phone ... so check it out :)

@Omen Malo It *should* work with most MIDI controllers. However, check with the MIDI controller manufacturer to verify compatibility.

Hi Luciano, it does indeed. So long as you have a reasonably new Bluetooth standard (i.e. in the last 5 years) - you should be fine. Yamaha's site discusses this.

@ranzee6 жыл бұрын
Hi Richard, I'm on High Sierra too - as it was in the video - so not sure why you can 't see it. Perhaps head on over to Yamaha and see if they can support you. I know there's varying discussions of people not getting it to work due to some different hardware specs (like older Bluetooth) - but my Mac is older than yours - 2012.

@@ranzee Hi Ranzee, thank you for getting back. I will double check this- it's definitely a problem on my Mac, as it works fine with my iPad (maybe they're paired), but I have a couple of other devices that I can't bring up on my Mac. I may have to scrap the Bluetooth playlist in prefs and start again (go course I need to dig out my wired keyboard and Mouse for that!).

Hi ranzee! can it be used with a synth that has only midi in port (like volca bass)? thanks
@ranzee5 жыл бұрын
Hi DaVe TheWaVe, this site says it needs to be connected to at least the MIDI OUT: www.yamahasynth.com/yamaha-synth-rss/bluetooth-wireless-midi-adaptors - so that might not work. However, if I get a chance, I'll try it with the MIDI IN only and let you know - as you've got me intrigued now :)

Ranzee, I doubt this will work for what I'm trying to do. I have two Midi devices, a Alesis Keytar and a Yamaha MX. Neither really has an interface for this. I'm hoping your familiarity of Midi devices could direct me to something that essentially just makes a wireless connection between the two. I realize the Alesis has a wireless feature, but it requires a PC. Thanks!!!

ranzee Thanks, you’re right. I also did some research and it seems Bluetooth is master/slave setup. BT adapters without a screen are always slave with the exception of those that are hard coded to be a master or those with a button that serves the same purpose as a screen (begin/accept handshake). Yamaha should add a button on v2 hardware that allows selection of master/slave or simply add the functionally to swap with the existing hardware within their iOS app (firmware update). If only Yamaha had ears...

I want to comment some things about this product that Yamaha does not warn you. I have an iMac middle 2011 (bluetooth 2.0), an iPAD 2 (bluetooth 2.0), an iphone 5s (bluetooth 4.0). Also and old Piano Roland RD-1000(1985) with MIDI, a Nord Stage 2, and Motif XF6. The idea was to use one MD-BT01 on Nord Stage and one on MOTIF XF for performing live and making program change from my iPAD2 or iPhone 5s with a software call Bandhelper. After a lot of brainstorm my work was successful with iPhone 5s. Then I connected it to the old Roland RD-100 and MIDI recording worked perfect with my logic x on a laptop with bluetooth 4.0. But no sound from the piano...and a TV decoder blowup. The signal blowup the piano pre-amps and the deco. Can you have any security idea? sorry for the english...I speak spanish. Thanks.
