@@paulallenMacca Hi John... I had the CP4 piano. I did not like it, at least not through a pa system. I would try for hours to eq it to my liking but never could get it to sound right. I have a CP300 which I like better. I like the MODX pianos but do not love them. I would say they are equal to the cp4, maybe slightly better. But, you need the MODX8 to really get the piano to feel right due to the weighted keys.

synthartist69 I have my CP4 going through my two Yamaha HS8 Speakers connected using XLR cables I prefer the CF pianos than the CFX pianos.So you would say the pianos on the MODX sound better than on the CP4 I’m thinking of getting the Montage 8 as I hated the pianos on the Korg Kronos 2.I always wondered which Stage Piano has the best sounding pianos I even thought about the Kurzweil Forte piano.

The "playing" is actually mostly Yamaha's pre-installed audition phrases. Most of these are also on the Motif line. One of them is even on my old Clavinova from 1994!!

Esperaba que los pianos verticales tuvieran más cuerpo, pero escuchándolos a mi parecer no suenan tan realistas. En lo que respecta a los pianos de cola no hay discusión, son muy buenos. Ojalá Yamaha desarrollara más sonidos de piano vertical; a mi parecer varios sonidos del MODX son muy parecidos y basados en el MOTIF, incluso del XS (que inclusive traen otros equipos como MO, MOX, MOXF, MOTIF XF y MX). Si a caso el único que he visto que trae muy buenos sonidos de piano vertical es el YC, pero fuera de ahí los demás me suenan a lo mismo, solo con nuevas funciones.

synthartist69 - What a great job auditioning all these sounds, in so many different styles! And extremely helpful to me - and I'm sure to others - as I'm considering purchasing the MODX8. I'm comparing it to the Roland FA-08. I don't see a KZbin video that auditions all of the sounds of that keyboard. Interested in your thoughts of how those onboard sounds compare with the MODX. And do you have any other suggestions of a lightweight keyboard in roughly the same price range? Thanks!

@@ChazSeamus28 Maybe everything you would like, are into Modx. I got Modx7 3 months ago. I love it. Perfect for live gigs, the update to OS 2.0 added a sequencer (not easy to use but it''s there, if you like to use one), added some excellent sounds from Montage and you can definitely create some user sounds, user performances and arpeggios, there's soundmondo if you wanna share and there are some nice sound packs (for a price) to play along. It's a great all around keyboard for half the price of the montage! VFM, if you ask me!

@@ChazSeamus28 I have seen a video that someone attached an other screen to navigate, but I am sure it is not the most convenient way to use it. :) I believe the screen is bright and quite responsive, making the navigation easy. Mastering this instrument, is not so easy though. User manual can be confusing. I haven't been able to do all the things this beast can do , not yet. If you plan to use it really often, your tax money are well spent :p

Hi Roop.... I did not add any effect. Slight compression to the mix. I used a Yamaha AW4416 digital recorder and then syncd it back to my video camera. The compression came from a website I send all of my tracks to these days before posting to youtube called Emastered

Are the piano samples of the MODX as good as their best digital pianos? I'd like to get rid of my DP and maybe get a MODX8 or even a MODX6 or 7 and a good midi controller. I've been learning piano for about a year and want to continue learning piano. Would be ideal to have a good digital piano and this synth in one.

It is hard to tell without having the weighted keyboard. They sound really good in my opinion and I have a CP300 but I liked the CP88 I played the other much much better than this as far as pianos go!

I've heard these on a different KZbin channel too. The Yamaha pianos are pretty unremarkable. The best I've heard on KZbin so far is the Roland Juno Ds88. Apparently it's only around $1,000 U.S. too.

The roland has great synths, but for piano sounds its lacking compared to Yamaha it sounds so thin. I own both yamaha mox8 and the juno DS, i use both at my church every sunday. I only use the Juno for synth sounds.

This should've been called Yamaha MODX REVERB. For a brand with such tradition in pianos, this is an insult to their history and legacy. The pianos sound just embarrasing. No dynamics, no depth and soaked in reverb. Really hope these will be improved for an OS update.

Olá Luiz Paulo, eu tenho um montage 6, e te digo com toda certeza que não sao os mesmos pianos do motif, inclusive os sons do motif estão disponíveis no montage. E é fácil fazer uma comparação. Montage é o melhor teclado que já tive até hoje. Esse sons ai no vídeo sao todos demos mostrando principalmente os efeitos em cada som.
