​@@danieldougan269to be fair, the current street prices are: Montage M7 4200€ Genos 2 3900€ The process of building these performances (styles) takes a lot of time, even with the preset arpeggios. Genos 2 comes with 800 styles that are more detailed (not necessarily better) than what you can do on Montage. To create 800 performances similar to those styles... Same goes for the solo instruments: SA2 voices are very nuanced. That is hard (sometimes impossible) to achieve on Montage. However, I am absolutely intrigued by the possibility and freedom to do that on a Montage...and Motif before that.

It's not an arranger. You still use "patterns" just like the old MOTIF series. MOTIF has this capability but it was too time consuming to set it up that way

@@abdolreza82 Yes, the arpeggios are maybe 2007 based. However, I recently bought a Genos 2, do also own a Montage 8 and I find many of the ballad styles shown in this video exquisite. And they work very similar to an arranger, you only have to do manual fill and variation switching.

Bought a Yamaha montage 2 months ago, and it's a BEAST. Also something of a beast to learn. The manuals are pretty much useless, because this monstrosity is crazy advanced. You literally can create any sound you'd ever want, combine the worlds most powerful FM synthesizer with sampler that has more filters than you can even want, and tweak the sounds till you can't even recognize your own samples. Not to mention the 6300 samples it comes with, you can throw in a few thousand of your own. But the MAJOR problem that Montage struggles with, it is its own enemy, Yamaha made this synth to literally please everyone, and that made it EXTREMELY hard to learn. I wish there was more tutorials out there, the only tutorials I can understand so far, are the ones Dom Sigalas published, but they're not enough to really learn this beast, it simply got too much to tweak, too many options. You really show that YOU can perform with this synthesizer, no doubt about that, I wish you'd make some tutorials (a whole series). I'm sure you could even charge for it, as there is many of us that don't have all the hours, that'd love to learn in an understandable way, instead of endless technical tweaking (and that's coming from a technical guy). Many of those who makes tutorials out there, skips several steps so you can hardly follow them, and more of a DEMO of what THEY can do, rather than empower the learners of this wonderful instrument.

Pity they don't know that the more their video teaches, the greater the chances of getting paid, likes or whatever...this guy made a gem...a Montage/Modx series is needed on YT, similar to how the great Motif flooded the place. Such a beast of a device is holding us hostage. Where is Bert at?

This is so refreshing, and impeccable work on your part for both the creativity in the performances (sounds and layout) coupled to some great pieces of music to demonstrate these. I will be in touch via email in due course as I would be keen to purchase these. You fill a very needed hole in the arsenal of extensions for the Montage/Modx. Easysounds great for sound palette, narfsounds for covers in a band scenario etc. You fill the playability space exceedingly well, either for actual live play or indeed a great base for a compositional scratch pad and to be able to focus on the song first before getting in to the guts of the board and/or daw. Have you thought of partnering with Yamaha / Hans Peter etc. You are well deserved a place on the next firmware upgrade if they don’t think you are canabilising Genos territory :-) Epic work. But I can’t seem to find a way to program for example a moving bass line that move within a chord that make the right movement when I change a chord. Great! Very tasteful arrangements of easy-listening and dance music. It must be an incredible lot of work to record all the custom arpeggios. I tried it rudimentary for the MODX with Xamaha's Motif collection of styles as a basis. But the overall sound of the Montage is better (audible especially with high-end sound equipment) and you benefit from more knobs and memory on the Montage.

Yes, that is possible. Shifting voices in the right hand with part mute buttons takes practice, though.

Does Yamaha Montage has a measure counter? As far as I know, it did not had in the initial release. And without a measure counter, if you are not a professional musician, it is very hard to sync vocal performance with what you play on the instrument. This was one of the main reasons I had to sell the Motif XF6 also. Many thanks for your time =Michael=

Great. I own a MODX also. Impressed. For myself I have try with no success to build a simple performance with One playable part and a part with drum pattern/arp. I wanted to change the rythm pattern with the scene buttons but no success ... This is very nice. Do You make chord changes with live playing also ? Today I am interested with a roland BK9 because all that arp things seems to compllicated for my brain on the MODX... Do You make this libraries available ?

Hi Kisszoltan, so you formulated these styles yourself on the Montage and gave them names in the list. I mean you didn't get this list from Yamaha did you? That is clever, but is it a headache to put your own styles together. I have been so lazy in the past, just using pre styles on my Yamaha PSR 8000 and Korg PA600. I do need a better sounding piano and strings, so I'm considering the Montage 8 or Fantom 8. This feature could swing the Montage for me. Can you set me straight about this setup? Soryt Thank you! You can't upload sty file but you can make arpeggiator sequences from midi wich are moving the tones.You can creat midi sequences from any style.

The yamaha montage is a werry smart keybord wich can create any sound and i don't know the genos how sounds

The difference of Yamaha Genos and Montage is the articulations and added nuances. The Genos has Megavoices so the instrument like guitars, strings has nuances and more realistic. And Genos have Revo Drums so the drums are more realistic and Super Articulation 2 Woodwinds so the saxophones and flute sounds so natural. And other additional sounds. Some Montage sounds is from the previous Tyros 5. But the problem of Yamaha Genos is the pricing. It's extremely overpriced. ($6000)
