How did the keyboard know to automatically switch to a completely different sound for the left hand at the 30 sec mark? And how did it know to change back to the previous sound immediately after? I didn't see any button press or dial on the keyboard to change this so how did the keyboard automatically know to do that?

Did you mean that synth-rise sound? I programmed that to a note that doesn't get played in the song. I'm triggering the Eb with my left hand ring finger.

Same comment as the Aha cover. Pretty good over all. The main patch sound isn’t perfect, and it’s the main sound. It’s still decent though. I cover this in my band using all software synths. I use an Oberheim emulator for the main riff. It’s even closer, but still not 100%. I have the patch pretty much spot on with my Roland Vintage Synth module, but I’ve given in to an easier setup. Roland now offers the original keyboard as a software synth. I’ve been demoing the MODX since it came out at Guitar Center, and I’m likely to buy one, but keep talking myself out of it because in general, my software synths sound better for synth leads and organ solos which I play a lot. Does a lot for the $$$ and very light weight. If it had aftertouch and could mimic some of my old Korg sounds made by 3rd party companies (I’ve never found anything similar in another synth so far) I’d buy one in a minute. Also looking for a decent backup solution should the laptop fail. I’d mostly be using the MODX as a MIDI controller for my software. The piano beats my present software pianos though but I haven’t bought better ones which are available.

Anyone know how it automates the filter in Sky Full Of Stars? Is it ‘sequencing’ parameter changes over time or is that an expression pedal? Great video!

The cutoff is programmed to the Super Knob which is motion sequenced (observe the lights around the Super Knob). I activate the motion by pressing the trigger button on the left just above the pitch bend and mod wheels.

Je suis à 1 doigt d' aller acheté un Montage !Il se fait en 76 notes ? il faut admettre que ce sont des ordi-synthés ! Les Synthétiseurs deviennent des ordinateurs ; fabuleux ,mais cette évolution nous ne pourrons pas y échapper .Les Synthés sont transformé en ordinateur.Et c' est pas un mal ! Mais il n' y aura plus le grain typique de chaque synthé , comme un Jupiter 80 où un Ensoniq T12. Enfin faut bien évoluer!💖

Gabrielita Merida the processing power of the Montage is superior. It has better polyphony and smooth sound switching can handle 8 parts vs 4 parts for the MODX. The Montage has analog outs and better D/A conversion. There is a difference in overall quality.
