This is my review of the Yamaha MS45DR electronic drumset speaker system!
Link To This Speaker System On Amazon:
amzn.to/2VXjEPH
The brand new drum speaker system from Yamaha has been very interesting to test. It's one of the only drum speaker systems on the market that has a 3 piece configuration. You get a right speaker, left speaker, and a sub. This gives the system a very immersive sound because the sound is coming from all around you. Many drum modules even map each drum sound to come from the left or right speakers depending on where they WOULD be in 3d space (this adds to the realism). Overall: it's a nice system that I enjoyed using. It's biggest advantages are that it works on most drum racks, has a decent sound, and it's also very immersive. On the downside, this is not the system to buy if you want LOTS of bass. It has it's limits in the low frequencies, but the system can get fairly loud.
(Disclaimer: This drum speaker system was lent to the channel for a 60 days in order to review it, however they did NOT sponsor this video)

I had at first a home theater system set on my kit when I first started out. But I need more silence and that is why I started figuring out how to record with the computer!! Good review Justin!!

Very nice review and a nice little package but I gave up on drum monitors and bought a Turbosound Inspire IP300 powered pa speaker a couple of weeks ago for $399 and put it on a stand directly behind my drum throne and it sounds incredible. Even at low volumes it has deep lows , mids and crystal clear highs . At 600 watts , It can shake the house too with zero distortion. It also has a Bluetooth channel. Anyway , keep up the good work. I really like your vids .

Hey Justin 😊 Cool review! I like how they mount to most drum racks, that’s very handy. Positioning of true knobs was not very well thought out like you said. I don’t tend to use my DA200 speaker much at home anymore. My KZ ZS10 Pro IEM’s are awesome and is pretty much all I use now.

If I were getting speakers for home use this is absolutely the type to get. I probably wouldn't mount them on the rack though. I'd put them at the other end of the room to make it seem like I was listening to myself playing in a nightclub!

I have a question, so in my church we use an electric drum kit, the td11 and i want to hit the cymbal but i want the sound to just stop and not continue on. Like if i was to hold an actual cymbal and hit it. I dont know if you know what i mean but i hope you can help.

Justin, do you recall having any issues with the power cord? Mine seems like it's not fully seated into the subwoofer, and even at max volume, the system is very quiet (drowned out by stick and pedal noise).

Douglas Lippi If you’re gigging with it like I do, run a dual female xlr to single make xlr (+ whatever length of xlr cable you need) to reach the front of house (PA) & you’ll be fine. www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/YXF119--hosa-yxf-119-y-cable-dual-xlr3f-to-xlr3m-6-inch?mrkgcl=28&mrkgadid=3316426562&product_id=YXF119&campaigntype=shopping&campaign=aaShopping%2520-%2520SKU%2520-%2520Accessories&adgroup=Cables%2520-%2520Hosa%2520-%2520yxf119&placement=google&creative=303058207398&device=m&matchtype=&network=g&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIqMaP0ZSs5QIVkobACh2a6w3GEAQYAyABEgI3LPD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

Really, you don't feel cheated in your sound? I have the PM200 and Simmons DA350. I feel like I have be cheated so dearly with both. The sound quality from Superior Drummer 3 is diminished so much, it's a ripoff. I've been finding out lately ear-buds are the way to go. Your ears don't ring and you can work with very low volumes. With an amp, you have to turn it up louder to get over the annoying thumping of rubber cymbals and mesh pads. Then if you want to play along with music through them with e-drums connected it's even more of a disappointment. At least that's what I've experienced, hope you have better luck, watch-out for that dinky Tweeter in the PM200 it blows easy.

The 50 is the minimum I would ever recommend using. Quite honestly, I think its sub-woofer is borderline too light to be effective. It's able to reproduce the sounds but lacks the depth. I can't imagine anything smaller even being really usable for anything.

I tried these with my drum kit and they just didn't work. Not enough power. Then I tried them with my keyboard and they work great for playing at home. Apparently Yamaha used to market these speakers with one of it's higher end keyboards from several years ago. But, I still need an amp for my drums.

Hey Justin, great video once again man! Would you recommend this over a single Simmons DA2012b or Roland PM-100? I really like the way this one lays out with the drums, but if it’s not entirely worth the money, would rather spend it on something better. I can’t seem to find the MS50DR really anywhere unless $255 or so used is a good deal on one? Thanks in advance!

nice vid, can you do a review on roland pm-100/pm-200?
@BumpNrun69
@BumpNrun69 4 жыл бұрын
Trust me, not worth it, especially if you're using (paying for) quality sounds from vst software (like, Superior Drummer, Addictive Drums, etc..). The "quality" that you pay for is just not there with driving through an amp. The PM200 has a very weak Tweeter, I blew mine in about 1-1/2 weeks. Replaced with an aftermarket and it held-up better but still, the quality sound wasn't there - just amplified. Good Luck.

i got the logitech z3000 and this thing blows the yamaha out. its more powerfull and has better clarity on the mids and highs. the bass shakes the room if you crank it too. over all, the logitech z3000 is a cheaper and better option if you are looking for the same set up as the yamaha on this video

I wish I could. But you cant demo speakers on video. Because you'd just be hearing what the speaker sounded like, as interpreted by a microphone, sent through YOUR phone speaker. You'll never hear what it actually sounds like that way. You have to play them in person to know what they sound like for real.
