@@kobod sorry but i have to disagree with you on this one. this isn't true whatsoever the build quality is some of the best you can find on the market regardless of price any bike with a ktm/husky badge is up to par with their standards one example is their duke 125 you know how most manufacturers cheap out on parts and equipment on their smallest bikes becuase frankly no one cares its a 125 but even still they have equipped it with the exact same high quality components of the 390 essentially its a 390 duke with a 125 motor this is how overkill ktm are willing to go to Keep their reputation intact. It doesn't matter which bike you buy they are all built with performance and fun in mind not some cbf honda lawnmower nonsense. I don't hate honda but most of their bikes are boring and soulless and i am a yamaha fun boy and even though their mt03 is great the little duke iis undoubtedly better in pretty much every single way except maybe how friendly it is to beginners which is both an advantage and a disadvantage but that depends on the eye of the beholder

I would recommend a set of Russell Speed Bleeder Brake Bleeding Screws (this is not an ad). They have an internal spring-loaded ball check valve that allows for a much easier brake bleeding experience. I use them on every vehicle I've ever owned that I've had to bleed hydraulic lines on. In addition to being very affordable, they come in a vast number of metric and SAE sizes and can be used on brakes and hydraulic clutch assemblies. I would also recommend getting a turkey injection syringe from the nearest dollar store and using it (without the needle on the end) to fill your brake reservoir instead of messing around with "bibs" and funnels. Unless you're a complete maladroit it's impossible to make a mess filling your reservoir in this fashion.

I really like what you did to that mt-03. It's exactly what it needs. About the suspension, you could put some high quality fork oil in the front and play around with the oil weight. Like maybe a Maxima 15W fork oil to make it feel more planted and less wobbly on the front. Would be a cheap fix but a long job.

Not sure why your experience differs from mine so much, but I basically have to force myself to use the front brake on my MT-03. Usually engine braking and a bit on the rear does the job just fine. Also, I sat on a Duke 390 the same day I bought my MT-03 and it just sucked ergonomically and overall "feel wise".

meh, there is better stuff out there. Their pads are pretty bad unless you go for the track only high-end stuff, noisy, bad bite and generally lower life than some of the good stuff, The rotors are about even with most OEM quality, it's better than some but Kawasaki for example have very good OEM rotors and I'd take those anyday over EBCs. Galfer also makes superior rotors though they cost a fair bit, The brembo makes some SHOCKING discs on the low end and their high end stuff is definitely about as good as galfer but even more expensive... As for pads Vesrah's RJL sports combo-d with OEM discs is probably the best braking you can get (yes even better than brembo comps).

I tend to agree with the folks saying your bike should be able to crack triple digits if you want to ride in between cities in Texas, especially when you get up into hill country. I’ve ridden from Houston to College Station and back once on my G310-GS, and I don’t think I’ll be making that ride again until I’m on a bigger bike. Kinda spooky riding 80 in a 75 with the engine temp creeping up and up, and traffic passing me at 90. That’s not to say you should always *do* triple digits, but you should definitely be able to get out of your own way on roads with higher speed limits. I guess the big takeaway is this kind of displacement is great if you’re just riding around town or on backroads, but not ideal if you want to ride from Houston to hang out with a buddy in Dallas.

This bike tops out at 115 mph. It'll easily do 100. The 10 extra horses in this compared to the BMW make a big difference.
@Mako969696
@Mako969696 3 жыл бұрын
@@AAARREUUUGHHHH I mean, I guess, but it’ll still be running high RPMs and high temperatures maintaining those sort of speeds for any extended period. Not to mention the vibes you’ll get through the bars and pegs. It also makes less torque than the little Beemer, so I imagine my point about riding through hill country still applies. At any rate, I’m not saying high speeds and long distances aren’t possible on smaller bikes; just that high speeds and long distances aren’t comfortable on smaller bikes. Your mileage my vary depending on where you live, but that’s my take for people riding in/through Texas.

How does a stock mt-03 compare to a ninja 300? We bought my wife a 2014 ninja 300 to learn on. I ride a 2007 buell xb9 but being air cooled it doesn’t like the stop and go/sitting when we ride. I’m looking for another lower cc liquid cooled bike preferably a naked. I love her ninja but I need a little more low end from a bike. Would an mt-03 be satisfying enough or should I go like z-400/z-650?

definitely go for a Z650. It's very similar in ergos to the Z300 (ninja 300 naked variant) and that 650 twin while doesn't sound as good as the MT-07's is overall a superior unit offering a lot more pull low-mid range whilst being smoother than the MT-07s. Also the overall package is far superior with better brakes and SIGNIFICANTLY better suspension. I've ridden both bikes and own a 2011 Ninja 650 and the suspension on the MT-07s is SHOCKING even with the newer updated models, if you weave side to side it feels like it wants to tuck under at ridiculously low lean angles and is way too soft to the point where it can't handle any weight transfer at all. The steering on the MT-07s also feels incredibly disconnected from the bike, it's like you're holding onto something that's not part of the bike. Anyway, the Z650 has all of the Kawi goodies whilst providing better pull than the Ninja 300. My mother has a Z300 and it's a fun little bike but the power difference is night and day compared to my 650. It's not too overwhelming though As for the Z400/Ninja 400 it's a marginal improvement over the 300 and in my opinion not worth at all. Suspension, chassis and brakes are all lower spec than the Z650 for very similar prices. As for the MT-03 vs Ninja 300/Z300 the MT-03 is actually a bit weaker cos the kawis have better top end.

IMHO full exaust is useless. What it changes, sound? Pads+fluid+armoured lines (which you haven't installed btw) plus alternative sprockets don't cost much.
