Great video but I'd suggest disconnecting the battery before replacing the relay. Having a loose hot wire is not a good thing.

I have the 150 HPDI 2001 and I ordered the part using the Yamaha part number. It came with three pins in the connector. Did they send the wrong part?

How to we know it isn't a failed switch at the throttle control? It would be good to have a procedure that determine if it is the switch or the relay.

Hello. At the throttle control, the way I found to be the best and quickest is to join the 2 cables that are coming from the throttle control and if the tilt works...it is the switch. What the switch does is join those 2 cables and closes the circuit. By joining them manually you are acting as the switch. Keep in mind that this will be done when you have ruled out the tilt motor and the solenoid. Failed switch is the last thing I check. Thanks

When you were hitting the button before the test did you hear clicking at the relay? Curious as mine clicks so and I see 12v in both directions so I'm assuming I have a motor issue or leak...

just started trouble shooting my hpdi, key was left on overnight and batteries died, charged them up and now the tilt wont work and the motor wont turn over...thinking the relay may be fried

EBAY. They have new original from Yamaha $$$$, new from China and used. I paid $45 for a used one. Still working perfectly. Hope this helps.
