For a keyboard, even the model before it, many have said it sounds just like a real piano. The videos online don't do them justice. You've got to see one for yourself. They are magnificent...this model is Amazing.

Guys, played a Yamaha Mox 8 and Korg Triton. Both synthesizers and Yamaha feels and sounds great though the Korg has some large touch display. Have also played the DGX 660/650 and neither the sound nor the feel is appealing at all. The keys are hard and the sound quality is disgusting(for lack of a better word).I even feel the DGX shouldn't be weighted. I have a small budget and my playing is also basic. All I want is some nice quality sound and a soft great feel across the octaves. Something that feels and sounds like Mox8 or Motif or Montage(mellow sound). Does the P125 or even 115 feel the same? Anyone who've played either of them please.....
@libertylizard_
@libertylizard_ 5 жыл бұрын
Triton Ex is one of the best sounds of all time - but it isn’t a piano. If you want a really great and authentic feeling digital piano get this, no question. Key response has improved leaps and bounds. Synthesisers are for gigging stage keyboardists looking for a portable do all solution and have a feel designed for speed; not classic Piano.

No it doesn't. CLP 635 for example (and higher) has a fuction that does that exactly. BUT I like the piano samples of the P125 much better than the CLP (I owned a CLP 635) I really like the sounds.
@cesarcamacho2266
@cesarcamacho2266 5 жыл бұрын
Of course, you only need to go a couple hundred bucks up on the price range. Its due to the GHS action, youre loking for GHE or GH3 weighted action, which gives your a better transition of notes without releasing the key fully.

It's controlled by the left of tri-pedal. AFAIK that's the only way to control the rotation
@stevied6286
@stevied6286 4 жыл бұрын
I think the Leslie on the organ is being fed through a rotary pedal..the keyboard does not have this function that I'm aware of..how many other effects are being applied to sounds to make it sound way better..I won't buy this keyboard cos even if I could play like this talented man I could never make it sound as good without investing hundreds more ..go try it yourself..never EVER buy on the basis of a promo video!!

Exactly, it works with the pedal but the triple pedal, with the pedal on the left (I think). So you will have to buy the triple pedal. This was also available for the Yamaha P115.

tremolo whatever you wanna call it ha
@erlingbs
@erlingbs 5 жыл бұрын
@@mjf6125 The Wurlitzer sound has a fixed tremolo (no adjustment possible). The Rhodes sound does not have any sound effect (except reverb). I bought the P-121, and bought the Strymon Ola dBucket Chorus. The Rhodes sound is a killer with that chorus (I use the multi-chorus position). BUT: The line output sound need some equalizer, it is too heavy on the bass frequencies (probably to match the onboard speakers). I use the Behringer FBQ 800 (between the piano and the Strymon Ola), and reduce the 63 hz, 125 Hz and 250 hz by around 3-4 dB. That way I do not need as much equalizing on the mixer, and both the Grand Piano and Rhodes sound come out a lot "cleaner" in the PA speakers. It also makes the Piano/Synth Pad combination sound a lot better. I used to have a Rhodes MK II back in the 80's, so I really enjoy the GHS action on this Piano (The 73 keys is also perfect if you prefer Rhodes.)

I know I'm months late with this reply - but just in case you're still curious, judging by which LEDs are illuminated it must be the 'Grand Piano' preset, which I would say is this keyboard's 'flagship' sound. It's sampled from a Yamaha CFIIIS concert grand and seems to be the most sophisticated/ complex of all the inbuilt piano sounds. The other acoustic piano variants differ mainly in terms of brightness, softness etc.

I just bought one for my weekend beach house and have a grand piano in the city (Stockholm, Sweden). Enjoyed playing a Rachmaninov Etude Tableaux (opus 39 number 5) and the velocity sensitive and weighted keys felt quite good...not unlike playing the grand piano. The nice thing about something like this in a cabin in Sweden, of course is that it will not go out of tune with the swings in the temperature. Expressive and it has a USB Midi which I can use to connect to my Digital Audio Workstation on my laptop, so I feel like I have studio access right on the Baltic. Love it.

The FP30 definitely has a nice touch and quality. I was a bit disappointed by the volume level (both earphones and speakers) and the lack of a line out. Also I found the user interface to be horrible compared to the Yamaha. Bluetooth connectivity and USB memory stick support is nice though. In the end, I think I'll go for the P-125 because I like the sound better and it has more features (including the smart pianist app).

Same for me, I hesitate between P125 and FP30. I think I'll go with P125 beacause I prefer the sound (more mellow), it has more outputs, I prefer the interface, it's lighter, the app seems to be pretty cool. So Yamaha P125 for me !
