I was expecting this yYamaha model to blow the S970 out of the water, but sadly it sounded exactly the same as S970. Dear Yamaha, if you wanna release a new model...can you at least make sure it is a HUGE leap from the old model instead of releasing a new model for the sake of releasing a new model ??

I recently got my dads sx750. He died on Christmas day last year 2022. I have synths and keyboards of my own, but that is the one I will never part with, keeps a little piece of him with me. It is a lovely keyboard.

I was considering the Korg Nautilus and even the Kronos. But you actually convinced me to get this keyboard instead, and by the way, your way of demonstrating the different sounds blown me away. The beauty of this keyboard is that it gives inspiration to create a new song based on the template already preloaded from a particular song that now I can incorporate on my own composition. The quality, body and clarity of the majority of the sounds are just amazing. I had a misperception on arrangers and I never considered them as part of my collection since I'm a more home studio musician. But this PSR-SX900 take things to a different level. Thanks so much for sharing.

You made the correct choice in my opinion .I'm no expert but I did have an early edition Kronos and a PSR S770. The Kronos, though technically superior was heavy going, especially when it came to sequencing . It has huge possibilities but it also had a steep learning curve . The arranger is much more inspirational and great fun to use, straight out of the box . Arrangers tend to be frowned upon by some synth fans for various reasons but it's all about the music at the end of the day. As a pianist I don’t know if I can get the handle of only 61 keys. I love the sounds so much of this psr keyboard that I can compromise.

Thanks for watching and for your comment! As it happens, the section you refer to is simply the Concert Grand Piano sound. It is a S.Art sound and it is the default grand piano sound that is the first sound you're presented with when powering on the instrument.

Not at the same time, but yes you can record Midi and then record that midi song as a WAV or MP3 after. It's very easy!

Speaking as a piano player I have had many PSR'S over the last 25 years. When will Yamaha make a PSR with 88 full sized weighted keys. Then it would be perfect. Again, 88 fullsized weighted keys. It can't be that hard to manufacture.

Today, piano synthesizers, etc. unfortunately no one needs them in modern music anymore. The music is 100% all electronic, and instrumental music has died out, so that you can create music with only a computer and a midi keyboard. Workstation synthesizers are only needed to play 20th century music.

That's why the music sounds like shit these days.. A real artist does use a synthesizer and only the computer for Cubase. You immediately hear the difference and that the soul comes to life. So that computer music won't last long. Same as with books.. an e-book has also flopped. That's why the best trance and house music comes from the 90s and early 2000s.

I'm undecided between the Yamaha PSR SX900 and the Korg PA1000. In the past I had a PSR S970 and it was not as bad as it sounded, but it had a very difficult sequencer to use, I don't know if on the new PRS SX they have improved it. Looking at some PA1000 demos, I must say that the Korg sounds very good and this is where my indecision starts, I am very torn about it. What would you advise me?
