Again ... Love this one. Reminds me of my childhood and also Leftfield... Does this one have portamento? I have the 470 and the 580, but some of these sounds are impossible to program on them, which leaves me in frustration. the sounds you made on this thing are amazing. If i am wrong and all these sounds are programmable on the 470 and 580, i would love to know how

Thanks. It's a great sounding keyboard and an advancement of the FM capability from the 580 (which was an advancement from the 470), so in general the sounds aren't reproducible (depends on the exact sound and how close you want to get, but as a rule I'd say not). There's no portamento on the 380.

I missed this when you posted it, but it's a lovely track. Reminds me a lot of Art of Noise's song Eye of the Needle, partly because they're both a nice groove and because of the pitch envelope.

Lots of great sounds. But it doesn't really go anywhere, you should think about making the song have a start middle and end that are all distinct. Mostly I'm impressed how much some good eq and reverb improve on the raw sound (I have the 570; without help it sound so much more like a toy)

It's interesting that you frequently produce entirely new sounds. It is uncommon....which is meant in a positive way.

Thanks. The more frivolous novelty sounds on this keyboard (ghost, UFO, etc) are often not very musical on their own, but they make for some great sound design possibilities once you start adapting them with the synth sliders.

great job! I’ve got 390, may I ask you a question? how do you get rid of the noise, especially recording drums? I tried to record a track using mostly 390 and in the end it’s full of noise😅

Might be the luck of the draw. This one (which I borrowed) was in mint condition and no noise problems that I recall. I've had a pss780 with horrible noise on the output - for that, I used noise reduction software (izotope rx) on the recorded audio. Without that, it would have sounded 👎🏻

Nice, love it. ;). Thanks for the synth settings too. Question - Do you play around to find a few patches you like and then write music to fit the sound, or the other way around?

Cheers Chris! :) The parts come from the sounds - I improv a few parts when I hear the sound and whatever fits best stays in the recording. That's why some patches don't make the cut, as I didn't get inspired by them at the time.

man this is one of my new favorites . super raw super clean. how about that bass?? when the snare comes in i could listen to that all day. maybe ive had a couple but it sounds like some stripped back drexciya. keep them coming!
