I'm working on a 2001 PW50. First one that I've ever seen. I wasn't able to get it started. I drained the tank and cleaned the carb. The gas tank had 2 stroke mix in it. The oil tank appears to be full of engine oil. I'm going to get a block off kit for this bike. Thanks for the video.

I never knew about delete kit, thank you very much. I just capped my line off carb, but it leaks lol. Now I know I can fully delete it

You could always pull pump out and just remove the gear on the end. And reinstall, block off the hoses too

Hi mate, I did the install exactly the way you did. So thanks for the vid. The bike starts and ideals perfect. But its lost a lot of power......it revs but there is very little power being delivered to the wheel. Bike is not going anywhere .....any thoughts or suggestions ?

Jason Lazar you may have to pull the clutch cover side off and have a look. So what your saying is it revs up but the bike doesn’t go anywhere? I know I am to big for the bike myself and it doesn’t go anywhere easily with my weight on it. If you just lift the rear wheel off the ground and you give it gas does the rear wheel spin? The clutch may not be working correctly hard to say without looking at it.

Would it work the same if you just let the oil tank and pump run dry but mixed your own gas?

You could.... but it’s not to hard to remove. Running it dry I would be worried about running it without the oil and cooking the top end. But you can mix your gas anytime and know you are getting the required lubrication for the top end.

@@bigair0176 Yeah, not too hard to remove but my screws gave us HELL! lol, we FINALLY took it apart last night to put a plate on it but couldn't figure it out but my cap off is different than the one you used. I used this one found here, www.ebay.com/itm/313197345063?ViewItem=&item=313197345063 However, I couldn't figure out how to put it on because it wasn't sitting flush. Additionally, was concerned with the throttle cable holding tension with that spring but from your video, you don't even need that and it can be disconnected, is that right?

Not sure what your trying to say. If you are asking if I have ever dealt with the kick starter not returning to upright position. I have not, but I have bought a spare Kickstarter and talk about it in part 3 in the engine component vid I did.

I just ordered a kit and will be installing it this week. Did you have to change out your main jet?

Hopefully you get what you ordered from pwonly. I didn’t have a good experience with action North America which is the main company for pwonly. I had to cancel my order because I never heard a peep from them. I never changed my main jet yet, but will be as I am currently making vids on engine mods to the pw50.

Yes I totally think the bike runs better. It isn’t as Smokey for sure. I am still planning to do a top end on it but just haven’t gotten around to it

Bigair01 thank you man the oil pump was bad on mine and the top end is destroyed the cylinder not so bad but it has some scoring so I’m getting a new cylinder and top end rebuild kit and that pug so i won’t have to worry about it happening again

What did you do with the cable from the throttle tube to the carb?

I just left the tube there and cut the wire for the oil pump. The throttle is still attached

I ordered it off of amazon. Unfortunately the cable was to long so I ended up using the stock one. I think part 4 of my pw50 project on my channel I show what I did.

Yea I'm having similar issues I made a purchase from motosport.com last night it's a single throttle cable they claim it's an exact fit let's see what happens i have a funny feeling its only gonna be have the cable or something lol il keep ya posted great content btw very informative git the bike running now. Question: We're running mixed gas but haven't installed the block off plug. The bike appears to run fine. What's the advantage to performing this mod? Not doubting the need for it, I just want to be able to justify the money and time involved. Thanks!👍

You could just unplug the cables and the lines and leave it installed. The plastic cog inside could break inside would be the worst that happens. Just plug the connection on the carb so it’s not sucking more air into the carb. But you don’t have to remove if you don’t want to. I just liked the fact if is plugged and knowing the plastic cog won’t break inside the motor unknowingly

I would say you would have to research the pump block off. But I’m sure you could do it if there is an oil pump on the bike. I would delete it and premix over the pump for sure

The reason it reves higher us due to it not having to use the pump. The pump is driven off a gear if I am not mistaking. And now that it don't have that extra load it's allowing it to rev higher and faster.

Quite possibly could be the case. But the fuel mixture with the pump seemed to be unreliable and a lot more smoky meaning a lot more oil. Doesn’t smoke as much and feels like it runs better personally. Cheers

@@tnerbsg8134 what runs the oil pump? if you open throttle and stay in that position what is pumping oil into the motor? The cable controls the amount of oil and the pump is driven by the gear in the case.

Well that’s not good. I am sure it’s something simple. Did you take anything else apart? Any wires or hoses that you missed or unhooked? Pull plug and see if it’s dry or wet. That should tell you if it’s a fuel issue. Make sure the run switch is in right position. Are you using the choke? Did you reassemble the cables wrong. It’s hard for me to assist when I am not sure what steps you may have missed or did wrong. Did you plug the oil line opening on the carb the line goes in. Sorry hard for me to help ya when I don’t know exactly how you put it back together.

Couldn’t you just drain gas tank and 2 stroke oil tank and then fill both with mixed fuel?

You most certainly could. I am sure you would be a higher risk of burning out the oil pump as well with no oil pumping thru it. Was a fun project and just shared what I did. Cheers!

@@jakewelsh1002 the other thing you should make sure is that the oil pump doesn’t suck air into the carb from the pump to the carb line. You have to cap it off. But if you buy the kit it usually has the cap to block off the carb included.
