I think the power supply rail uses two 12000 uF caps. That amp board is identical to the AS-801. Very nice quality amp!

I think they used some tricks and higher quality parts in the 1000. The RN800a would be more like your 801. Very good pieces for the price 👍🏻

Kalimera. Keep in mind Yamaha is an honest company. So, the 2000A is for audiophiles and the 1000A is for hifi lovers.

Did you check the R-N800A too? Do you think the R-N1000A worth 450 euro more than R-N800A? Any sound difference? I don't need the HDMI port, but looking only at the better components (caps, transformer) and gold plated speaker terminals.

Yamaha should have put the power meters on this one as they did with the 2000, looks cheap after seeing the 2000.

It's just a little warm sounding and a bit laid back sounding amplifier. I love listening to it at night, and during the day, i use my denon PMA A110.
