Yamaha do not do a stereo receiver with a graphic EQ. Bass and Treble is common and would do enough for 99.9% of their customers, so they are unlikely to change their feature set any time soon.

Yes. The amp should be fine. Maybe consider an Arcam or Rotel if you don't need the onboard steaming, as they might be a better sonic performance with your speakers.

could not drive my speakers - very weak output compared to spec's in my experience. A Cambridge Amp with half the watts drove the speakers beautifully.

This is very common. Wattage implies how loud an amp might go, but CURRENT is more important in getting a speaker under control and sounding good. Rotel, Moon, Arcam and Cambridge Audio (to name just a few) produce smaller wattage higher current amplifiers, that sound great. If you want both wattage and current... you need to step up to the likes of McIntosh.

Is this information typically hidden in the spec's information and I am missing it, or is it a measurement that is not noted in the spec's? I ditched the Yamaha RN602 (sent to the spare room)and bought a Pioneer RSX 932 (135RMS) and now my old Legend Kure bookshelf speakers are starting to shine.

All stereo receivers are crap. They have everything and in fact they have nothing, they do not have the most important thing, and that's the amplifier. Just enough for the bookshelf speakers.

@@krunobrzi666 Depends on the speakers if they are efficient yes they can drive them loudly but you'll have to go with a higher watt unit if the speakers are inefficient like 84Db or only have 4 ohms.

Nope, no EQ. Yamaha doesn't even make an EQ anymore, nor do any of their receivers and amps have a set one inside of them. Just bass & treble.
