In this video I rent a 2020 Ducati Panigale V2. I was on vacation with my family, and randomly decided to rent a motorcycle. This was my first time on a Ducati and at first I was not impressed. The motorcycle would not start…but after getting a Ducati technician on the phone and diagnosing the issue we no longer had any problems.
At first I could not get the bike out of Street mode so it felt a little underpowered. It felt almost like a 600cc motorcycle, but a tad bit faster. The bike feels extremely light and the seating position is very aggressive. The bike has some attitude in the way it delivers the power, but that’s what makes riding the Ducati Panigale V2 a fun motorcycle. You definitely wont get bored riding this bike!
After I figured out how to put this bike in race mode and unleash it’s full power I fell in LOVE. It didn’t feel quite as fast as my Yamaha R1, but it was still PLENTY fast! Id almost say it felt like a quick Suzuki GSX-R 750 but with a better power to weight ratio. I think the light weightness of the bike is what makes it feel so quick and nimble. As a 1000cc sport bike owner, I definitely would have no problem adding the Panigale V2 to my garage…but Im DEFINITELY gonna go with a Panigale V4 because Im a bigger guy and I love big displacement bikes :)

I rode at 1199 Panigale which is also a V2 in 2016 around the Isle Of Mann TT course. It was a friend of mine who I met on the trip and we swapped for a couple of miles, and he rode my 2012 FZ1 Fazer 1000. The difference in power delivery was insane 195 bhp in two cylinders is just magical, and I actually prefer the twins over the V4's because there are less moving parts so therefore more charismatic. Anyway enjoy :)

Just remember, for up shifts, pin the throttle and use the quick-shifter for it to work properly on the V2. If you keep letting off the throttle it might shift into neutral or not shift up to the next gear. I own a V2 and this is how the bike runs perfect. Only use the clutch when stopping.

The cold start issue (imo) was from not using the fast idle lever. I’m assuming it has one - my Ducati’s had them. Also there’s no need to keep pushing the starter button because it just needs one tap, and it will spin up as long as it takes to start.

Bro I’m sure you rented it from the same place when I was in ft Lauderdale. I drove my car rental to their shop in Miami and let it sit there for the bike. I had a white 959. I rode up to visit my cousin in Palm Beach. I rode back and at might rode down to South Beach and just sat on the bike people watching. That bike cost me $299/day. I didn’t have the startup issues you did but had the same comments. Great vid

I was very close to putting a deposit on a V2 today but opted in for the Supersport as I'm more of a new beginner Rider. One of those big things was what I kept hearing was the heat was really intense and enough to turn some buyers away and make for a really uncomfortable ride especially in the summer. On the V2 don't hold in the clutch when starting it and you hold it down until it starts up. Give it 0 throttle untill it runs for awhile.

Starting issue sounds like MAP sensor failure. All it would take to blow them is installing battery terminals in the wrong order. I know, I’ve done it.

My first bike was a 2015 899. I still have it once it’s broken in. It can keep up with litre bikes. Rode that from 2016-2019. Now It’s the spare. My girl is in the process of learning now. Race mode everything turned off. With a rider that knows how to keep it only high in the range. It is can hold its own easy.

@@FastLaneD 2020 V4 Panigale. It’s rides way hotter than the 899. But the looks I got this pass summer was insane and shit wasn’t open up here. It has a heat issue. I had a start issue like your video. Going to get a arrow exhaust and a Brent tune. That tune supposedly deals with the heat and start issue. Other than that. The bike is a savage beast. If I wasn’t riding Ducati it would be S1000RR. I got a few boys riding all RsV4.

The R1 is definitely faster, the the V2 is much more nimble. If I were to do a mountain run I'd pick the V2 over the R1, but my generation R1 is known for being heavy. The V2 is definitely faster AND handles better than the Vrod, but those bikes are built for two completely different purposes. Great question bro! Thanks for watching 🤘🏾 #FastLaneGang 🏁

Ducati's are gorgeous finicky b*^ches! But that starting issue isn't really that common, owned and still own several panigales and never had that much of a starting issue...unless it hasn't been ridden in a while and someone just shuts it off without letting it idle for a bit. Definitely get a go on a V4S to compare that to your R1. The V2 is certainly the baby pani. Fun video man.

Same here. My son's v2 starts up with zero issues. Something was definitely up with that bike and the tech just told them some BS "yeah that's normal" line. That's not normal. And yeah that bike stock more than keeps up with my 04 R1. He just added a full akra system on it and it leaves me in the dust at the track.
