Yamaha R3 - How to Re-charge a Discharged Battery

I accidentally left the bike power on all night discharging the battery. I went and got a generic Lead-Acid battery charger to recharge the battery. Here are the steps on how to re-charge your discharged battery.

Was your bike clicking when you tried to push the ignition?

Mine wasnt. But that's also a sign of a low battery.

Can u explain the quick shifter module n how it works ?

I don't have this R3 anymore (I have a different one), but the quickshifter module connects to 2 things. First is the quickshifter sensor that is installed on the shift lever by your left foot. Second is the wiring on the ignition coils that power the spark plug. When you push the shift lever to shift up to the next gear, the sensor detects that you are trying to do that and sends a signal to the quickshifter module. The module then cuts power to the ignition coil, which stops the spark plugs from firing for a split second. This let's the gearbox loosen up inside for a brief moment and it let's you slide into the next gear smoothly without closing the throttle at all.

My Motorcycle (Yamaha YZF r125) won't start after I charged it, is there anything I've done wrong? Absolutely nothing starts.

Things to check: - Does the charger say the battery is charged? - Are your battery terminals the correct polarity? (Red to red, black to black) - If you have a Digital Multi Meter, check to see if you can measure battery voltage to verify charge. - Perhaps it wasn't a dead battery issue to begin with?

I've checked all the points here and nothing should be wrong comparing to them. Could it be the start engine? Or maybe the battery is broken?

Tycho having the same problem, on my charger it doesnt say its charging, i left the bike on over night, i remember i have charged it before at an old friends place but i dont remember how we fixed it, i think it had something to do with the clamps i think, or that the battery isnt supposed to get the black clamp, I dont remember how he fixed it

Is the battery 12v or 12v AGM?

Is your quick shifter up and down or up only ? It autoblips? What’s the brand

Up only. This one is Annitori. My new 2nd R3 has Dynojet quickshifter, also up only.

@@FT099 do they even make them that can do up and down for an r3 or any of the bikes that you see up only QS’ers for ?

@@Fee.1 they do not. The bike must be ride-by-wire for then to make autoblipper. The other option is they add a servo unit to the throttle and blip it when u request lower gear.

My battery is at 12v but still it would not star the bike, should it be more than 12v

You need somewhere between 13.7V and 14.3V on a 12V battery. I know, it's confusing lol

The Annitori unit is a quickshifter controller. Allows for full throttle clutch less upshifts.

My r3 battery goes discharge and i get charged it.it shows more than 12 .8 when i checked but mutimeter but it didnot get worked when i press start switch it goes down in o.564

+fernando camarillo Hmm, good point. That could work. Both are 12V systems. The car has a lot more juice than the bike would need. But that should be alright, it'll draw whatever it needs. Have you searched on forums to see if that's recommended?

Was the engine light on and was it displaying error code 46

There was definitely a code. I don't remember which one. It was a long time ago. Sorry. It was either 43 or 46.
