You just saved me $50. I was just about to purchase the entire assembly off eBay because I didn't know what was wrong with my signals. I watched your video, saw how much of the old earwax lube was in there, cleaned it all out and regreased. Now my turn signals work BEAUTIFULLY. Great video man. Thanks!

The "other washer type component" is what dropped out on my garage floor. Thanks so much for showing that!

Of course! I tried to include as many things that could go wrong cause that's where I usually get stuck when following youtube tutorials

I had a very inconsistent turn signal in either direction on my R6. The main problem was that the metal contact plate was jammed in because it was dirty. After disassembling and cleaning now it works as expected. Good video

Very important use only dielectric grease on electrical components. If your grease contains conductive compounds like lithium, graphite. molybdenum you can set up lots of electrical leak paths or even direct shorts.

Instead of removing all of the components just separate the halves, wrap a clean rag loosely around the switch, use electrical contact cleaner with a straw to clean from as many directions as you can get to. Apply fresh dialectic grease to areas that touch and button it up. You can purchase dielectric grease in a spray that will penetrate then evaporate the carrier leaving grease on places inside the mechanism if needed.

ah damn man, you could try McMasterCarr but they probably only sell high qtys. If you have a caliper you could measure the size. Looks like theres a kit of a bunch on amazon www.amazon.com/Tanstic-Precision-Stainless-Bearing-Assortment/dp/B09C1J2JPS/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=steel+ball+bearing&qid=1685546433&sr=8-2

Thanks! It's made by TST industries, and it's cheap! And then I used some ebay leds to make the blinkers. TST STANDARD FENDER ELIMINATOR YAMAHA R6 2006-2016 tstindustries.com/tst-fender-eliminator-yamaha-r6-2006-2016.html

I did everything in the video but now only my front right turn signal doesn’t work while the back right does, it also blinks at a normal speed. Any ideas on what it could be?
@wbsnow93 Жыл бұрын
Sounds like wiring to me. I'd guess just a coincidence that it happened while you cleaned the switch. Are your blinkers 'running lights'?
