These are cool, especially for changing out a tire and having the axle be able to go right in. I'm not a track biker but I change my own tires and the problem I almost always have is getting that damn axle back through. Trying to lift the tire and keep all the parts in line, while threading the axle can be a PITA! Too bad they didn't make these for my Honda.

Do you have to take out the axle to install the chain adjuster on the Yamaha r7

Yes you have to take the axle out to install these on the R7. - Van

A) are those shirts available? and B) does the r7 have an issue with the rear brake needing to be "captive" as well for quick change?

STG Live Free Or Die T Shirt V2 www.sportbiketrackgear.com/stg-live-free-or-die-t-shirt-v2/ A captive rear caliper is never a bad thing. I have a custom solution for our MotoAmerica Ninja 400 which really makes changing the rear tire easy. When I prep this for the track I will try to find a good way to get that done with the R7. - Van

What does the top and bottom bolts thread into?
@sportbiketrackgear8 ай бұрын
They drive cams that push outwards and hold the chain adjusters in place. We have been using these on our R7 and they work well. - Van

If you do not want to add something like this you can drill and safety wire the OEM adjuster caps and add a spring. - Van

@@sportbiketrackgear I’ve a third gen SV650 and unfortunately there’s not much “streetable” aftermarket. These adjusters are a great idea even if it’s for a DIYer doing tire work twice a year

Chain slack should be set with suspension properly addressed and rider and gear on the bike....to set your chain at static is to improperly set it I/E THE SLACK WILL CHANGE AT FULL COMPRESSION AND COULD HINDER SUSPENSION TRAVEL

This is the number noted in the secret document that comes with the bike. The only time I would deviate from this is when you have modified the ride height by changing the length of the rear shock. On our race bikes I find the number I will use moving forward by removing the rear shock, holding the swingarm at it's longest point then setting the chain so there is just a touch of slack. Once I have done this I reinstall the shock then take a measurement with the bike on the stand. Whatever that number is that is the one I will use. - Van
