Loved your video, I did the same June 2021 RD350N2 YPVS - German import for GBP 5300.00 - I'm 63! Totally the best bike in the world for me - total nostalgia from when I had my 2T Moped in 1976, then Honda CB100N and somewhere in the middle did a year dispatching in London on a Honda BROS 650 'Product1' - best job I ever had. I've wanted a 350 YPVS for years and now finally got it = totally makes me smile every time I ride it. I now don't go more than 3 weeks without a ride. The front brake is known to be a bit weak despite 4 pistons on mine and rebuilt - mine can lock the front wheel in the dry - just takes too much hand pressure. I will be fitting a YPVS 250 brake master cylinder which gives more leverage and better feel I'm told. As you might expect, loads of info and parts on the internet. I found that Westway 2 STROKE OIL SYNTHETIC RACING - 5 LITRES is giving me the nearest I can get to Castrol R 'bean oil' smell. Even when sitting in my garage it smells great. Only downside is I cannot leave it anywhere on the street - way too nick-able. However, I only ride for fun these days so no worries. That steering wobble you have is likely to be the head bearings - probably too many hard drops from wheelies. I get about 25 to 35 mpg because I'm mostly in the powerband at every opportunity. Your engine mid-range seems to run cleaner than mine, mine has 2 ultra smooth patches, 3700 to 4300 rpm (perfect for traffic) and anything above 6000 rpm. I like 2 strokes to behave like the 2 stroke in the 'crazy frog' videos - completely bonkers power on a lightweight bike, every corner exit is 'race on'. Also 2 stokes love to be thrashed, they are just where they like to be at top revs, no tappets and timing chains. Most 4 stokes always feel like they're being 'damaged' by running them flat out. And on a 2T, I don't mind changing piston rings every 15K miles and I can do it myself. And thanks to Allen Millyard's videos - that guy is a total inspiration.

Got my motor finished , oil pump rebuilt , have some R1 bluespot brakes fitted . Can't wait to get this finished and on the road . It's taken me a while as cash is a limiting factor , but I'll get there . I think it sounds good - kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKq0lqhqeJunrZo

I bought an LC2 after passing my test in ‘89. It turned me into a right hooligan. The rush I got caning through the gears was infectious. The brakes on mine were incredible( I could lock the front wheel at 100mph). Wish I still had it. Sold it to a bloke from Woking. He travelled 80 miles to see it, went home & got a van & travelled back the same day to pick it up, so it must have been a good one. Its 0-100 time would keep up with the modern KR1S’s & RGV’s, but much more reliable & easier to maintain. The only real issue I had with it was leaky power valve seals. Ruined quite a few pairs of jeans😁

People shouldn't let the hype about the newer bikes fool them. When I get off my Fireblade, and get on my RZ, it's like a sport touring bike, compared to the CBR, as far as comfort is concerned. A nice seat that doesn't feel like a piece of plywood, and a windscreen you can get down behind easily, is a plus, also.

Wow you have zero comments, this is a first to be first for me, lol. So like yourself I purchased an RD350 YPVS, a 1989 German import, clocks are in km, it has the three spoke wheels and the pegs had been moved back 6" making it really comfortable to drive. I also had a Benelli 504 Sport at the same time which I had to sell due to not having someplace to keep it safe, really wish I had kept it and just stored it in my house or something. I still have the RD350 which I'll never let go, it'll get passed onto my next of kin when I go, hopefully they'll keep it. I've had an R6 which I loved and a KTM490 Motocross bike, but the RD350 stole my heart in truth like yourself it was the bike I always wanted as teenager and could never get. Purchased back in 2000 for.........................wait for it.......................................£425, but lets face it they are priceless to enthusiasts. Have fun mate, I hope you keep it.

Hey great vid.!! I really enjoyed watching & listening to this. It actually reminds me a lot of myself. I rode a couple of RD's back in late 70's/early 80's (had a '73 & a '74) and just recently acquired another... an RZ350 just this year. It'd been ~40yrs. since I've owned one. I'm hoping mine was an investment and not a money pit (although I'm thinking it might not even matter, lol). Now I'm looking for another one, lol..and for me (much like yourself in the commentary) most of the ones I'm able to find here (Canada) are at least 600km's from me or more (was looking at nice one that is 3,000km from me, lol). I actually drove 8hrs. to pick up the one I have now.... worth every minute. Hope the bike is holding up for you.

Spot on mate. I sold my shares last year and bought a matching numbers f2 for 3k. Never been restored, totally original. I've spent 600 quid on it, chain, sprockets, tyres, pads, fuel lines, fork seals, etc. It rides like a new bike, proper fun, and you can't beat that two stroke smell and noise. 6k wouldn't buy it off me, it's a cast iron investment.
