Dude, riding at low revs not only are you gonna fowl plugs with all that unburnt 2-stroke oil but you're going to fill up the baffles with that snot. Ride it between 6,000-9,000 rpm and change gears with this in mind. Blow that snot out bro. Thanks for the vid. Be safe.

True, I never hit the powerband, there was no traffic, not because I do not know how to ride it, just that the roads were so much unfamiliar to me and lot of twists and turns, and slippery in some places with sand and debris, so just didn't want to take the risk. I always ride hard and hit the powerband all the time in my place, which is so much flat and straight. I have been riding 2 strokes for years and I know how to make it pull hard, and just that in the video its not there that I hit 130MPH when I got a straight stretch. Thanks for the comment :)

A beautiful and delicious road, nature and many curves. Congratulations on the wonderful 2T, I love the RD500. I do not have the RD500 here in Brazil, I have two RD350R years 1991 and a TDR180cc (the latter was manufactured only in Brazil) Thanks for posting.

The second rider of the RG should have been told how to ride the bike properly. The roads were great, no traffic, clear vision and NOT ONCE did he ever hit the powerband! If you don't rev the bike to at least 8500 RPM, you are not riding a GAMMA. What could this poor soul have to say about the RG experience on this ride? He may as well have been riding a scooter.

These are the sorts of roads where riding a motorcycle is FUN. Yes, even on a scooter. I think that some of the people have been sniffing too much two stroke exhaust and not enough fresh air and smells from the trees. With some sixty years of riding I hardly ever rode a bike that I didn't like except for a Harley. Life on a nice road with a nice machine is GOOD.

You can see how much better the Yamaha is at lower revs with it's YPVS. Lovely bikes, I so wanted to hear them scream I was hoping you would turn onto a race track somewhere at tease the red line :D

The second one on the gamma, the engine run always under 7000 rpm!!! ALLOOOOO It's a 2 stroke, the real power begin at 7000 rpm!!!(in 1986 i haved one!) OMG Put put put!!! On 500cc 2 stroke!!! When a made a video with my R1, the engin run between 10-12000 rpm... It's not a Harley ride!!! OMG!

2 strokes being ridden like V2 Harleys, Yamaha sounds better, but both need to be ridden in power band.

Quel intérêt de rouler avec des 500 2 temps sur ces routes ??? Une 125 trail aurait fait l'affaire. Vidéo inutile.

shame... i rode my rg500 on the limits so often its scarey back in the day. was looking forward to that beautiful howl as it climbs through the powerband to 11000rpm but alas nothing.....!! Pity we didnt have gopro's then as i would have loved to post a few laps of the Isle of man TT course (2 laps = 1 tank of fuel) you do the math, (and thats with sticking to the speed limits through the towns.) brown trousers time.
@ricklorimer9984 Жыл бұрын
bullshit. If an rg ever went anywhere near 11000rpm it would blow up.
@dickjones61597 жыл бұрын
Well I think I know where he is at and if it is where I think it is, then he rode smart. All you guys who are taking shit are doing just that taking shit. You get behind me and see if you can keep up on roads that I know and you have never been down before. You see how fast you dump it or better yet just peel the skin off your ass and elbows. There was sand all over that washed down the drive ways in the corners, and half the corners were still wet from being in the shade under the trees. Talk shit and ride that way. No experience at all or you wouldnt be running your cs
