this was very useful and kind of what I needed to not cancel my order. As someone who works a lot with acoustic instruments / samples, it is great to see yamaha has included most of their great physically modeled patches in that regard

@@nervouscooks Does this thing have an arpeggiator ? I have a feeling you may repurchase it soon. Just a gut feeling .

@@WyattLite-n-inn there are tabs in the synth settings menu for arpeggiator so I assume so but I never tested it. Unfortunately I definitely wouldn’t buy another one. It just doesn’t work for me. I’m holding on to see what else gets released soon though 👍

There’s some usable sounds in there I think. Some may be old (as old as the MOTIF days) but even the Montage M is still riding on some older sounds.

I checked to make sure it wasn't me but there's continuous static noise at the beginning but then goes away later. Maybe it was part of the sound. What I'm using this for is a rompler to single USB-C cable (MIDI, Audio & Power) into the YC to add more sound options. I hope it will work like that. The shortcoming in the YC is it only has a few hundred voices and no FM controls. What you are demonstrating sound good enough to pair with YC taking it to another level.

Please tell me, if I use Seqtrack as a midi sound module, how exactly to select sounds to play (without using program change)? For example, one needs to select a piano sound. Will the selection of timbres for playback via midi by knob? Another question: are the effects settings connected to the timbre itself in one program? Or is it stored in the project and the timbre is independent of the effect? If I want to switch the grand piano to a DX piano, will I need to change the track? Or spin another knob? My controller is a Casio CTS1. If I connect it to a MIDI USB HOST adapter, will Seqtrak play if I connect it to the host with a midi cable? Sincerely, Alexander

Hi Alexander, sounds are selected for each track. You can have two of the synth sounds and 1 DX sound at the same time. They are selected by pressing the Synth 1, Synth 2 and DX buttons and using sound to scroll for the desired sound. If you want to change the sound for the track you have to scroll to the next available sound. As for the Casio it is my understanding that it would trigger via MIDI as you have MIDI in and out and it comes with and adapter to connect to standard 5 pin cables but it’s not my area of expertise so I can’t guarantee that is correct. 🙂

@@nervouscooks thank you for the reply! It's unclear, how tracks are connected with midi channels. For instance, my controller transmits to chanel 1. To switch realtime playing from AWM to DX should I switch transmitting channel to 2? Or all tracks in Seqtracks could be controlled by 1 channel?

@@alostr11 each track is assigned to a MIDI channel. Starting with the 7 drum tracks and then the two synth, the DX and the Sampler. So drum track one is MIDI channel 1, drum track 2 is MIDI channel 2 and so on for 11 tracks/channels 👍

6:18 Some of these include a sample as the sound source it seems. (Are others virtual analog synthesis? or just more samples)

7:20 Slide Vel obviously means velocity will give a tonal slide into the note. Pretty cool.

My only regret is that I was feeling too ill to… ahem… let’s say “borrow” all the sounds from the device while I had the chance. Maybe on whatever piece of gear ends up on my desk next.
