Thanks a lot for watching & comment ! Thanks so much... 1 Way of programming... many more steps/ways possible ... led by our hears, always ! This is a fabulous machine with tremendous possibilities ... throughout 2 different FM elements (6 FM operators / sustain & release each ...) and the "Magical Moment" for ears when you Detune each of these 2 ... added to internal effects, allowing superb sounds !!!! You'll love it, that's for sure... & I can send you a bank of personal sounds for free, throughout Sysex at a given mail address to start with (as most of these 2nd hand babies often come with original factory sounds, only !!!) A good thing is to check the soldered internal battery, just unscrewing the bottom "plate" & watching if there is no "leakage" around & testing it with a multimeter ... as functions / led / sounds & effects can get weird when battery is far lower from the 3 v ! ... for instance, on the SY99 & its 2 batteries out, I had no record / run led lighting up any more & an awful / increasing painful sound when changing effects values... got all back after replacing them & initializing the baby ! ;-)) Excellent week to you & let me know about your new "FM monster" ! ;-))

Awesome sound ... I no longer use a keyboard as I've been using FL for years now. All of my guitars and keyboards got stolen back in 1998 and I got back into music again in 2005 with my FL .... However, before I learned how to use my newer programs, I searched through E bay and bought 2 more RX 5 drum machines and 1 SY55 keyboard because they were so reliable to me in the past and sounded so awesome.

+synths colors It's too bad that I can't integrate those instruments with the FL ..... The closest that I came to this was to make my FL a midi controller and it could trigger my drum machines at intervals to augment my FL music .... The only problem with that is that I couldn't export the drum machines along with the FL to a single waveform .... What I did instead was to connect the line out of my drum machines including my Alesis SR-16 and then export their waveform into my FL browser .... That's most evident in my song "Afterburner" where I used the SR -16 snare to give it that epic 80s sound .... Eventually, I'll want to take the sounds from my SY -55 and do the same.

Thanks a lot for watching & commenting ! I guess that you have a TG77 or SY77... for which I have a personal sound bank I could send you through SysEx file if you wish ;-)) Great musical week to you ! ;-))

I did not knew about the way of programming the SY99 until this video Thank you for the offer. and the SY can use samples as a fm soursce, but do not know if only by ROM or by sampleram too. No i have no hardware nowadays anymore. Only one heightunit ? for 8 and 8 really fat oscilators ? with 88 algorithms ? O.k.
@synthscolors6 жыл бұрын
Yes, both SY/TG77 & SY99 can use ROM samples "injected" into FM (through AWM2)... Only the SY99 can load users samples : .from sampler / computer through Midi Sample Dump Standard "SDS" .loading Yamaha TX16W 3.5" disks ones ... into its 512kb internal memory... up to 3 mb (when all 5 SYEMB05 internal cards are installed) as "factory specs"... third parts seems to have developed proper memory cards with more "room" ;-)) ... Got it, so you had a FS1R ... ;-))

Can anyone tell if the presets have their original effects when you are in multi timbral mode. I want to use it as an multi timbral source for my AKAI MPC where I'm sequencing. But I need to be able to have at least 4-5 presets with the original effects (as in patch mode) when i am in multi timbral mode. Many synth disable the effects on multi timbral mode (like the Triton I use now) and they sound really wack. Thanks!
@synthscolors7 жыл бұрын
Hi, In "Multi timbral Mode", you can have up to 2 different effects (as for the "Voice Mode")... But ONLY "2 selected effects" (which can be from a "Patch" with identical same settings), where EACH AMOUNT can be different for EACH OF THE 16 voices... IF YOU HAVE 2 OR MORE PATCHES / VOICES with 2 different types of effects, you'll only be able to have 2 effects (as you would have for JUST ONE VOICE) !!! Same for the SY77, TG77 or even SY99 ! Great week to you !
@DonbeatsPerformances7 жыл бұрын
thank you so much for the help my friend. so when you are moving to a new midi part does the patch has SOME effects attached or they don't have any effects at all (like it's on the triton)l. because if they don't have effects , they sound unusable and it is very time consuming to assign each time effects on 4-5 different midi parts. and then i will need to save the whole project and continue workin later so i will have to save these new setting somehow too ..so it's become an long process that's kills my creativity. that's why i am asking this question. i watched an video (the Japanese one) where the player used the song mode and he used drums for midi 1, and then he used a bass and a piano for 2 and 3 and i noticed that they all had effects, re4verb ...sounded good and meaty . so I guess i can use 3-4 parts with some effect attached to them by default. the mo6 had the option to exclude the parts you don't need and this way it gives the needed power to use the original effects for the rest of the midi channels.
@synthscolors7 жыл бұрын
My pleasure ! When creating a NEW MULTI, you MUST CREATE YOUR EFFECTS (newly one or from existing voice)... as NONE is affected when affecting new voice to a new MIDI CHANNEL within the MULTI ! Effectively, when adding new voice, affected to each MIDI canal from 1 to 16, you have to CREATE an "Effects architecture" / configuration (common to each of them, just different amounts / outputs effects levels can be affected to each voice !) ... And finally getting used to the "same effects" (by DEFAULT) ...for newly programmed sounds making things easier... let's say with some "CHORUS or FLANGE & a little touch of REVERB" ... SOUNDS played, usually are "GOOD & MEATY" ! ;-))

Please, can you help me with my SY77? I can't understand one thing: can I write more than one track in [pattern] mode? In [song] mode when I press [rec] I can switch tracks by 'memory keys' at the right part of panel, but in [pattern] mode it doesn't works.
@synthscolors7 жыл бұрын
Hi, I've never used the "Chain Pattern mode" to be honest with you, but according to YAMAHA SY77 Owner's manual, you have to : use the "Chain Pattern Mode" (Page 38 & 40 of the manual) : In the PATTERN MODE, * For the 1st PATTERN ... you have to record (Press PATTERN, then Press RECORD) ... Press RUN to START RECORDING... Once done, the SY77 Screen will show "PATTERN01w" * For the 2nd PATTERN... Press RECORD to make RECORD LED Light & MOVE THE CURSOR TO THE UPPER RIGHT & Select PATTERN02 ... Press RUN & PATTERN RECORDING will begin ... Press stop & PATTERN RECORDING will END "Place the PREVIOUSLY RECORDED PATTERNS into TRACK 16 ... * Press SONG & then EDIT to enter SONG EDIT MODE * Press 16 to SELECT track 16 (the PATTERN track for EDITING * While EDITING track 16, you'll be in CHAIN PATTERN MODE * Move the cursor to the right & Press F2 ... To enter a REPEAT BEGIN MARK for PART 001 ;;; THEN press enter * Select PATTERN "01w" for PART 002... PRESS ENTER * In the same way, Input PATTERN 01 for PARTS 003 & 004 * Pattern 02 for PART 005 * For PART 006 press F3 , Use -1 +1 to specify "x 7" so that the ranges of parts between the begin & end repeat marks repeat 7 times (for example !!) being sure to press ENTER TO ENTER EACH PART When chain pattern editing finished, press EXIT to RETURN TO Song Play Mode Press RUN & you will hear the newly edited "Chain of Patterns" ... Enjoy it & excellent week to you ! ;-))

Synths Colors, it seems that sy can't record more than one track in one pattern. Strange and sad. Thanks!
@synthscolors7 жыл бұрын
Again, I haven't used it for its sequencer so far, but for sound design ... but, excepting the "Chain Pattern Mode" it doesn't seems that other tracks will allow other "patterns"... ... Unless affecting drums to MIDI 15 , 14 ... within a given COMBI & RECORDING THEM in REAL-TIME ... in SONG MODE ! ;-))
