This bike is better at just about everything, excepting fuel consumption and trunk space.

I have been riding the MT-07 Tracer as a courtesy bike while my ST1300 PanEuropean is being mended. This bike is very easy to ride, has crazy good brakes and acceleration. I get over 70 mpg commuting 64 miles a day, over half of it filtering through London traffic. In fact it gives more mpg filtering around 30 mph than constant 70 mph. But I find it more difficult to filter with probably because of the mirror positions. Comforts is minimal and I would not call this a tourer. Comfort is slightly better two-up but the passenger comfort is minimal. My son was well scared on the back of it and complained about a sore bum after just over 1 hour on the saddle; same with me. Being a big bore parallel twin, the engine is a bit rough and viby. Perhaps I am spoiled by the comfort and refinement of the PanEuropean.

Got mine from the dealer midweek. No complaints at all, everything I expected and more. Just need Givi to hurry up with a monokey rack so I can use my old top box for a London commute. Great bike, loving the mid range power and comfortable ride.

Hi, MT07 owner here, recently I test drove Tracer 700 (video soon!). I can't agree with some of Cager's thoughts. First, Tracer has firmer suspension, MT07 dives more while braking. I also wouldn't call it high, seat is like 10mm higher that MT07, the "highness" feeling is because handlebars are different - _slightly_ higher, you are seated more upwards. Comparing Tracer to NC750 - I didn't drive the NC but I was seating on it. NC is bigger in general, it's fake tank is much wider and dash/screen is further from rider than in Tracer. Oh and BTW taillights are from MT09 tracer, not MT07 :)

I test rode one and it's a great bike. Very light and manoeuvrable, with a punchy engine. Not much to dislike apart from the suspension was really hard and I felt every little bump in the road and I wonder if the sub-frame is sturdy enough for heavy panniers to make it a full touring motorbike.

Today in the morning it was about 9 it was a bit chilli but it was nice to ride. Here in Lithuania (North east Europe). I will stop riding when temperature will fall down to 6-5 in the morning because it could be freezing ground so it became dangeruose.

Hi Cager, very nice rewiew for this great bike! Many people say that this bike don't brake and it has poor plastics.. i have intention to buy it, but my wainting is very long..from February at today no news about the arrivals of the model 2018. I say, small difference, but we are in 2018 and i want 2018 model with or without improvements. In Italy we are always the last to receveid new models of motorbike. In other countries of Europe, the tracer700 my 2018 is available. Have a nice ride!

No one talks about that but Yamaha uses an abs system from 1999. When it engages it just goes on for 2-3 secs with that weird vibrator noise. It's just ridiculous. Shitty abs+suspension +headlights+engine mounts+ mappings bla bla but the 70hp engine is great on mid revs and bike looks beautiful... bravo! By the way I own a tracer 700. But it's a fact that motorcycle companies are robbing riders... that abs belongs to 90's not 2020.

I don't think the Nc750X has fully adjustable suspension, only adjustable preload on the rear.

Darn man, I was with you on the "windshield is on lowest setting", as I'm 1m83 thinking the reviews I read about that part are exaggerated.... until the end you said: "oh, it's actually on the highest setting". Ouch. Thanks for the review, though! I was first very focused on the Versys - but the more I watch about this bike, the more I seem to love it. I might just take the windshield nuisance for granted.

i test rode one with 200miles on the clock, snatchy throttle and heavy vibs through the bars at all revs. i thought it was a beast. i didn't like it. the power is nice though. oh also the gear box is clunky and not at all smooth

Great test ride as usual, Cager! Even if I have enjoyed every single minute, a 30 min video is a bit too long in my opinion... I needed 3 days to fully watch it (I watched 5 more minutes every time I went to the restroom 🚽💩😜). 10 to 20 minutes is the perfect length for your test-ride videos. Anyway, it seems to be a great bike, and a fair deal as every Yamaha MT 👍🏻 I note you said "I might buy one" at the end...

Cool you like the MT07 Tracer.We don't have that model in the U.S. right now.We have the MT07 which is the FZ07 and the MT09 which is the FZ09,the XSR 900 and the MT09 tracer which is the FJ09 and the MT10 which is the FZ10.I like the FZ09,the XSR900 or the top naked Yamaha FZ10.Thankyou for answering Cager.And that is cool to know I can rent a bike for a cheap-ish rate.Also very cool my friend from Portugal that I can go riding with you! NC has rev limiter at 6500 rpm. Think twice to choose this limit.

I had same dilemma went for the NC. So far averaged 80mpg (uk). Storage compartment is massive advantage too. Build quality better than MT in my opinion.

Tracer, which can do it all, and have a blast doing it. The NC is your mom's first bike. It needs a better motor. Also consider the V-Strom DL650a, another do-it-all, even more comfy and versatile than the Tracer.

The Versys 650 is the most natural competitor to the Tracer 700 due to 17" wheels, nearest weight, and nearest power figures. The Vstrom I would say would be a 40/60 off/on (19" front, longer frame/ergos), and the Versys probably a 20/80, about the same as the Tracer. The Tracer is just a lighter, moderately more powerful/frisky version of the same formula. Other opinions may vary.
