I'm a quarter ways to 100 years old and I think I would enjoy this bike a lot. Loved my old Delta-Box R1 that felt like a freight train in corners yet planted. the lady isn't as enthusiastic about it.. nor about all the other sport bikes in the garage that do the same thing and I don't blame her. This looks like a winner though, test ride here I come.

I got one last month, it’s spent more time in the dealership than on the road. It has an oil leak that no one can find. I love the how the bike feels and rides. But it’s getting traded in as soon as it’s back from the shop. If I wanted something that leaks oil all over the place I would ride a cruiser.

You know that you can use that bike as an old one and use the blinkers and horn only? :) Noone really needs to use all these settings when riding, you can stop and set whatever you want :) I test rode s1000xr and even they've got better buttons than yamaha I found that it just took too much of my attention when riding so still I stopped to set everything.

Another great review, I'd be interested in what you think of the 2021 bmw s1000xr, any chance you'd review one. I bought one this year and after 4k km I still can't make up my mind about it. Absolutely fantastic bike at everything, I just can't put my finger on what feels missing.

Very nice review. Can you please tell us how you find with the ergonomics positions? Arms relaxed and straight back are ok for touring, but what about the angle of the legs? There are, after the seat, also adjustable (up or down) footrest that is great, but I'd like to hear your great traveller opinion.
@nemozack37672 жыл бұрын
I read about an aftermarket gel comfort seat for not much money. Yamaha is already selling loads of these bikes and we will find anything we want for it. I'm not saying this is my way when I buy a new expensive bike (but less than his competitors), as many people do. But if it's the right one for you and if there's one or two thing you can set better, without not so many bucks (maybe also a bigger windshield for me, for long trips during a holyday) I think It's ok. In fact the perfect bike doesn't exist, and even if you find a really good one, some little things could always be better.

Hey Jamie. I wish I could even find a Tracer 9 to test ride. The closest dealer with one on the floor is 300 miles away and no test rides. I am thinking about the Moto Guzzi V85TT. I'm not a hard core former racer so I am just looking for long range comfort and an enjoyable ride. I can test ride the V85TT. Thoughts?

When it comes to Yamaha, I join a FB group that’s specifically for the bike you’re looking into. Then put out a post asking if anyone is willing to let you test ride theirs. I did that for a T7 and got someone to take me on a 150 mile forest road loop for free. I bought him lunch though.

I appreciate the review. One thing that rarely gets mentioned, even for bikes intended for touring, is the lighting. I personally am no fan of the one-light approach (Euro only?). I don't understand how it benefits anyone. Also, how good are the lights at night? I'm sure I'm not the only person who rides at night ... do the lights sufficiently light the way, especially in corners?
@motorcyclemichael21823 жыл бұрын
I work second shift and as a commuter I wondered the same thing about how the lights work at night

@nemozack37672 жыл бұрын
Bravo! Unfortunately, because I love the bike for my next one to have, and I hate riding at night without enough light, someone showed they are quite poor. But still I think the thing has to be cleared well.

@@nemozack3767 Incase this is still relevant to u. I did a big roadtrip, 7000km. Did alot of riding in the dark and night, zero issues whatsoever. The lights are more than good enough, bright, with or without low beam. Dont worry.

Good job Yamaha 👍 Apart from the seat is crap, the dash is crap and the screen is crap. And you can't get a full size helmet in the panniers. And the rear suspension is not adjustable for rebound damping when your carrying luggage and pillion. Apparently. (Gleaned from other reviews)
@zdenekanyz98703 жыл бұрын
The stock seat can be swapped for "comfort" or even" comfort heated" from the accessories catalogue. Full size touring helmet fits just fine, people just don't know the helmet must be placed upside down. The rest is just personal point of view. There is always option to buy an another and better bike for 25k USD plus. For given money the Tracer GT is great made in Japan package. Great powerful engine, gearbox, frame, electronic safety aids, KYB semi active suspension. Just be realistic this is not 30.000 USD BMW touring uber bike.

Mostly I wanted Yamaha to make a Japanese MV Agusta Turismo Veloce, a smaller, lighter, rowdy quarter-fairing semi-touring ripster. But this bike is heavy, large, buttons and screens too complex, and the engine has been neutered too much for the weight and size of the bike, considering the MT model has about 60 less pounds.
