Well, there are a few things that make it easier. First that bike lift. I have the Amazon one cost about $125. Second is that little Milwaukie driver. 3rd is a roller seat. Those three things will make life much better.

@Hazcat and don't forget editing out all the dropped bolts and swearing 😀 No joke, it took two times longer to clean that case gasket than the whole job. One thing about the dub, there isn't much on it that's hard! I appreciate you boys watching

Easy peasy! I enjoy watching your channel. You know your stuff, and coming from another gearhead, I find it refreshing! Most of the dual sport content creators I've found don't know jack when it comes to working on their bikes.

Means a lot man, appreciate that. You ever watch 2vintage? He's less than half my age and I've learned things from him!! His channel and content is fantastic.

Thanks for posting. I did mine some time ago and it seemed to fail early but kids were learning on it and riding the clutch a bit. I never changed the springs nor the metal disks so next time I will.
@PSBEadventures Жыл бұрын
Hey John, I think the springs really help. In a pinch, if you don't have them, you can put a little washer as a shim to tighten them up a bit. Thanks for watching!

Thank you for your detailed video! I'm surprised it needs a clutch with such low mileage. I've had my 02 for a few years, bought it at 5K miles and now it has ~11k on the same clutch. Hoping it'll hold up for a while longer, at least now I know its a simple job.
@PSBEadventures Жыл бұрын
Yeah, the stock clutch is fairly weak and depending on the rider they can fail pretty quick. This particular one got out of adjustment I believe before I got it. I purchased it knowing it needed a clutch and a cylinder base gasket. Just got back from a 1300 mile trip through the Idaho backcountry and it did great! Thanks for stopping by the channel!!

HI! I think only you have the expertise to help me. My motorbike doesn't want to start. For now I have carried out these checks: I put in a new battery, checked all the electrical cables and connectors which were cleaned with a specific spray. many were in very bad condition but the bike won't start. she's dead, she makes no sign. the instrument panel does not turn on but the headlight works. I found the starter relay and did the "bridge" and at that moment the starter motor moved. Could it be the faulty relay?

How did those HD springs feel? Still can do with two fingers?
@PSBEadventures Жыл бұрын
Hey buddy. Yeah, didn't notice a ton more lever effort but it grabs really good. I prefer using OE plates but on the tw I think they are a bit weak from the factory. You can use a small washer on the stock spring as well.
@raffaelede1991Ай бұрын
hi, thank you for have condivision this video. Ym have buy a new Clutch for my TW from 1999. I didn't find it a kit whit the glasket. do you think I can use a sealing paste? This is my first clutch change. I read that the cable must be disconnected before disassembling. is it correct? did you do it?
@PSBEadventuresАй бұрын
@raffaelede1991 you can get the side cover gasket on Amazon or ebay or from partzilla. If it doesn't tear you can definitely use a thin coat of permatex ultra gray or hondabond. Yep, I like to get the cable out of the way. Mark it all really good where it was
@raffaelede1991Ай бұрын
@@PSBEadventures very very good! I also have to change the complete transmission. Do you have any advice for that?
@PSBEadventuresАй бұрын
@raffaelede1991 have to split the cases for that. You'll need to pull the engine out, top end off etc. You'll need a flywheel puller too. Pretty major job to do a trans on about any bike. Vesrah is a really good Japanese gasket brand if you do it yourself. What's going on with the transmission?
@raffaelede1991Ай бұрын
The motorbike has traveled 50,000km. I think it's time to change the transmission. I found a good offer for the complete kit

I need to replace the clutch on my TW. You put EBC springs on. Did you go with an EBC clutch kit (I think it is the DRC231) as well over an OE? It look OE is about twice the cost. I would really appreciate your thoughts.
@PSBEadventures Жыл бұрын
Yes sir. The DRC231 comes with the stronger springs. So far so good on this clutch job. I've read someone sells a Kevlar one but not sure which one it is. For the money, this one is getting the job done
@jackflynn9169 Жыл бұрын
I have had Very bad luck with the Ebc clutch kit. I have worn out 2 ebc kits quickly. I’ve found the oem clutch kit which includes a gasket for a good price is the best. The oem clutch has been lasting longer and has better clamping force.
