@@MostroMoto you are doing a great job and I never comment on videos but for these, I had to say something. They’re informative and they’re helping a lot of new riders. Do you think you might do a “winterization how-to” video for your TW200? I’ve never prepared a motorcycle for winter and I don’t want to mess anything up. Thanks again for the work you do in these videos, hope you know it does not go unnoticed.

As long as you use the proper motorcycle synthetic oil, synthetic should be perfectly OK with this bike You want to make sure that the synthetic oil is compatible with a wet clutch. So standard full synthetic motorcycle oil will work just fine. Don’t use car oil with Motorcycles unless you know exactly what you’re doing :-)

@@MostroMoto Actually your videos are very good I purchased my 2021 TW 200 two weeks ago, I racked up 600 miles today. I will be making a video soon all I needed was an SD card and I now have one. I love the bike been off road just a little so far and it is all I hoped for in a bike and more, I eventually want to mount an atv tire on rear. I have seen photos and videos of that set up and I think it will do great off roading with that set up. Do you have any idea if the rear stock tire will fit in the front and an atv in the back, I have seen several set ups like that. I feel with that set up top end speed might not be 72 mph that is what I get full throttle on the back roads, however I care less about going fast. If you get the chance look on Google images of the TDUB and what people have done to the bike is amazing I love the bike and have a lot of things I will be up grading the tires are just one of those things, take care ride safe and have a Happy New Year.
@MostroMoto3 жыл бұрын
Hey congratulations on your new bike! Put 600 miles on it quick that’s awesome! I’ve seen pictures of that tire set up & it totally adds to the battle tank theme hahah. To be honest I don’t know exactly what size tire you can fit, but after looking at pictures on forms & google it seems like there have been many people doing the ATV tire upgrade. Like you said it would probably take some miles per hour off the top speed, but the benefit you get while off roading will certainly be worth it! I’ll keep an eye out for the videos! I would love to see how your bike comes out & if you need to do any modifications to fit that tire! Thank you for watching my video & once again congratulations on your Tdubs! Happy New Year to you and your family! 2021 will bring many good memories on your new battle tank! Ride safe and I look forward to seeing how your bike turns out!

Great video thinking about getting my son a TDub but 4 ,000 miles between oil changes?. Never heard of that before even in a manual I've always did all my bikes like Each Quart =1,000 miles. So my KLX (just over a qt) gets it every 1,000 and my CB750 gets it every 3,000 (holds 3qts).They are tough bikes though.
@MostroMoto3 жыл бұрын
Yeah that’s just what the manual recommends. But I’m similar to you, I will be doing oil changes around 1,500 to 2000 miles. On bikes like these it’s so cheap for a oil change so it’s worth keeping it nice and clean! Also A CB750 is a beautiful bike!

I know a lot of you want to know or maybe already know the difference Between Petroleum based SAE regular Oil and Synthetic Oil so here's the difference. Regular oil has molecules that vary in size, some are bigger which in turn lets the bearings and surfaces that need oil ride on the bigger molecules letting the little ones pass through giving you a little less protection compared to Synthetic oil, which wears out regular oil faster due to causing more heat and wear. Now Synthetic Oil is Man Made oil and almost all the molecules are the same size, therefor letting more bearing surface ride on more oil surface give you more bearing protection and dissipating heat better which lets the oil last longer. It is also less prone to friction, so that's why when you use Synthetic oil in a motorcycle with a WET CLUTCH it must have additives so that the Synthetic oil will let the clutch grip and not slip, and we all know what could happen if a clutch slips to much, so if you use Synthetic Oil in a motorcycle with a wet clutch MAKE SURE it is and has the wet clutch additives in it, It will say so on the bottle if not do not use regular Synthetic oil at all.

Hello Mostro, for the 125 is it the exact same approach?

I believe the engine on the TW125 is fairly similar to the 200cc engine. The oil amount may be a bit less because it’s a smaller size engine! Your best bet is looking on some TW125 forums for the correct specs! I hope that helps 😃

Just to tell everyone as to how important the first oil change is. I had a brand new 2013 Honda CB 1100 gorgeous bike kicking myself in the butt for getting rid of it still 6 years ago...anyways a burr from one of the gears/sprockets under the left side cover was loosened while I rode the bike home from buying it in shop and I was stopping at a gas station to fill up...well the burr got caught somewhere where it locked up my shifter and I wasn't able to shift under 3rd gear or above 3 rd gear....it ran just fine haha! But I've never had to take off in 3rd gear before...gave it a lot of beans to get it going...oil change at the shop at no charge fixed the issue
@MostroMoto3 жыл бұрын
Wow that’s pretty interesting, really goes to show how important a simple oil change is. Good thing the dealer didn’t charge you, also that’s a bad ass bike! I definitely notice the bike is smoother shifting since I’ve changed the oil! And for only costing around 45 bucks it’s a cheap way to keep your bike healthy. Thanks for watching & commenting again. @@MostroMoto question for ya. If I do get a tw200 what sort of helmet should go with it? I was thinking that a full face modular helmet would be alright. Or would one of those dirt bike looking helmets be what to go with?
@MostroMoto3 жыл бұрын
@@lilredwagon5311 Hey great question. personally I like full face helmets because they provide the best protection. You can certainly go with a dirt styled helmet as long as it is at least DOT approved. A good option that I'm looking in to getting myself is the Bell Mx-9 adventure helmet. The only issue with dirt helmets is they tend to be a little more noisy on the road and allow more wind. Full face modular are also great that's what I currently have. its great for being able to talk to friends, or eat something without taking the helmet off! For the longest time I just used a regular full face helmet and I am so happy I switched to a modular one!
