Little bit of advice for anyone that cares to listen to it.. ethanol in the gasoline is corrosive to some plastic. Depending on which type of plastic, the effects of ethanol can be swift or take a long time. For that reason, it is best to not use plastic fuel filters. Go to a parts store and have the parts man match up a metal fuel filter, and substitute the metal fuel filter for the plastic one. I got this tip because I had a Moto Guzzi Norge with a plastic fuel filter mounted inside the fuel tank. I have been riding moto Guzzi since 1979, I belong to the national owners club. This bulletin/tip was in the national owners club newsletter. Because members were discovering mushy soft fuel filters made of see-through plastic when they changed their fuel filters. In that case, they actually gave the part number of the Napa metal for BMW substitute fuel filter to use that goes right on.. that can be a problem because the fuel rail fuel pressure is around 60 psi. I had to locate the very very special replacement clamps that only work one time on the fuel line inside the fuel tank on the fuel pump/ filter unit..

Not a bad idea, but you’re much better off running non ethanol fuel 91 octane or higher in anything with a carburetor

clear and easy to follow, thank you. You mentioned there were performance issues you had with the old one. What were the issues and did changing out the filter help?

No problem I appreciate the kind words. As for the performance issues, turns out that my carburetor filter was clogged (the tiny filter letting gas into the carb). I bought a carb clean kit and replaced it and this cleaned the bikes bogging issues up right away. I think that changing the main fuel filter was good to do tho as it was very old.

@@billh1337 awesome, glad you got it figured out. I'm having similar issues so I'll move on to the carburetor next after the fuel filter. Thanks again!

Can't locate the fuel filter on the 2008 vstar 1300. Anyone know if it exists?
