Beautiful bike. I rode my uncle's for a couple of miles (all my experience was a year on a 50cc scooter and 6 months on a 150cc bike), and it amazed me how comfy the thing feels. My only issue was getting used to the hydraulic clutch but apart from that, I loved every single bit of it. The torque the thing had from 40mph in like 4th gear was smooth, yet threatening. You knew if you got a little bit higher on the rpms, you were gonna get thrown off the seat at any moment lol

The first gear is for lift off. Lol second is definitely more manageable. I bought a 2020 back in August and ride every chance I get. Supposed to be nice this week. Hope to see more of your rides, take care ! 🏍

My dad used to ride super sports so hes the reason I have the bike and have managed to ride it with out looping out. I don't let anyone ride it other then my dad cause a lot of people have no idea what this bikes nature is. And that's pulling away from hellcats and Lamborghinis at red lights. You try and take a 1200 to the mountains that's going to be a fucked up day. You take the 1700 to the mountains as long as your rev matching that bike will handle Farley well with out the rear wheel locking up on you.

Correction with the stage 7 dyno jet kit your going to get gapped by that 1200 when its vboost kicks on at 3000rpm. But stock the 1700 will be at least a second faster then the previous 1200

My 19 Hayabusa with power commander V runs off and leaves my 09 Vmax 1700. The Vmax does have more torque, but the busa still comes out on top. Love both bikes, but just like the busa a litttle more!

What are some differences between the generations of 1200s and between the 1200 and 1700? I strongly prefer the body style of the 1200 for that old school muscle bike aesthetic but I want as much HP and torque as I can get from factory as well

Also if I'm not mistaken the vmax 1200 for the European countries was limited to about 100hp. American models had 145hp. To the wheel stock 120hp. I got a kerker header and rejeted carbs. I'm looking at 130hp to the wheel of my 1200 vmax if I was to guess. All I know is the throttle is insanely twitchy like if I was to give a quarter throttle from a dead stop I'd probably loop out and die!

We bring our VMax from Japan so full power and most have been upgraded the last one we had produced 170 bhp on the dyno

Most of the VMax 1200 sold in Europe were imported from the US or (like mine) from Canada. That means full power of 145hp in the papers. You can identify them when you switch on the ignition, then the vboost servos open / close the vboost valves. The sound is like tseeeereeep tseeeereeep. If it doesn't sound like that when the ignition is switched on, it is a bike without vboost.

This bike is advertised at 13,750 GBP which is just over 18k in the US. This bike brand new retails 17999. Let that sink in. Even with the Akro exhaust there really isnt much done to this bike. other than the bullet windshield which is for looks only and the back rest. The bike is 11 years old with a nice ding in the engine. That is why this machine is still for sale. As an owner of a Vmax two times over I would never pay that amount for this machine. These retail for 10k or less for an 09.

Hi lance first of all it’s in €euro no sterling we are in Ireland 🇮🇪 .Secondly the taxes here are over 40 % up on the states so the new price over here is in excess of €28000.you are so lucky to have such access to cheap motorcycles unfortunately we do not and hence that bike is cheap for over here

Regardless the 1700 is a lot of fun and I cannot wait for the weather to clear here so I can get on mine. Whoever buys will definitely enjoy as that Akro exhaust is nice and not cheap. Good luck!

I own the 1700 and the 1200 VMax, beside a Suzuki SV650 and several Oldtimers 4 and 2 stroke. The VMax (both) are wonderful bikes, I would never trade them for anything. BUT: They are not fast bikes. They are simple bikes, strong, powerful. Like the Munch 1200 in the old days or the Z1300 or the CBX There are many mamy faster bikes in top speed and in racing . Just acceleration the Max rules. All these nimble fast racing bikes don't bring their power to the street. They start to raise front wheel under hard acceleration. The Max brings its power to the street. But topspeed, racing, handling and fuel capacity there are definitely better bikes. I am writing from Germany btw, where you can actually max any vehicle legally on the autobahn. Still, my favorite are the Maxes.

@Harts: Living in Germany next to an unlimited Autobahn, I can tell you there are faster bikes than the mighty VMax. Much faster. Even the old 1200 VMax is faster than the 1700 because that one is limited to a top of 220kph whereas the old one goes nearly 240. In the end, top speed of the VMax isn't that interesting. The acceleration is however

Hart Hauling: The Gen1 runs 240kph and the Gen2 is limited in 5th gear at 220kph, that's 230 on Speedo. Real fast bikes go beyond 300kph. The mighty max is powerful and the best bike I could wish for. I would never trade mine for any other bike bike. But in terms of speed there are faster bikes. When it comes to acceleration that's a different story though ;-)

Well unfortunately we are not in America and laws here are different also the person riding is a 23 year old on a fresh licence one speeding fine over here and he has to do his test again ,just for your info bikes and beards channel in the us have started to not show the Speedo on video as they had issues with the law
