I’m a Mexican living in Colombia. When you finally finished with all your hard work restoring that beautiful bike you drank a beer made in the city where I was born and worked on a sack of coffee from the country where I now live. All while restoring the same model motorcycle I bought brand new many years ago in Seattle, Washington where I went to university in the 90s. I enjoyed every minute of all your hard work. Thank you. Please receive warm greetings from your friend Fer Morales in Medellin, Colombia.
You are a very talented and sympathetic restoration genius. Your patience and dedication to all your projects is breath taking. The finished bike is absolutely beautiful. It actually made me cry. Congratulations. Amazing job.

😲🙂👏🏻Marvelous restoration done to this XJR400, it's always a real pleasure to see old bikes and scooters being brought back to life again, I recently restored my Yamaha BWS and it gave me lots of pleasure too though finding the parts I needed turned out to be a bit stressful and time consuming but I was able to achieve a happy ending like you did with your bike there. Respect from a fellow bike enthusiast from 🇵🇹 working in the 🇳🇱 for all the hard work done👌🏻👏🏻🙋🏻♂️🇯🇵.

Man, that was an amazing restoration! It was truly worth it to watch the full 90 minutes. Cheers! 🍻

Great Restoration, and for me, what it makes it special is that you actually show the setting up of the cams and tappets, and you spent a fair amount of time, with close ups of what you were doing when reassembling, - most other restoration videos have 80% of the time dedicated to frame scraping and painting, engine buffing and cleaning, panel rubbing down and painting, and very little time on the most important part - that of engine and bike parts assembly, with detail - after all that is the main reason for watching these videos so that we can see how its done- WELL DONE!!!!!

I admire all the work you put into this 400...very, very nice......there were 4 things I saw that I would have done differently. 1st one was I would have put rings in the motor since I had it all the way down to the bare cylinders. 2nd thing was I would have removed the wheel weights before painting the wheels and rebalanced them after installing new tires. 3rd thing I would have done is I would have put those carb's in an Ultra-Sonis cleaner until they were spotless then sent them out to be vapor blasted. 4th and final thing I would have done differently would have been to install a nice set of rear shocks, like a set of Race Tech's, YSS's or Ohlins. Shame you put cheap Chinese shocks on such a gorgeous bike. But you certainly made that thing shine, that's for sure.

Excellent job done! I watched it from beginning to end on the TV. It reminded me of the days when I used to ride my bike. With my tool set in the pannier, all the usual and a socket set and spark plug socket and gauge. An IMPACT DRIVER is a must for undoing very stiff bolts/ nutss/ screws with flat, Phillips and Alan key head. You hit the impact driver with one or two hard Knocks with a hammer, and the screw is loosened. You used power tools, so you didn't need an Impact Driver. I'd love to have bought a bike restored by you; you are so thorough. I love the paintwork, it gave the bike a racing look. Wonderful! Don't give up the day job. Perry (London)
