Great video, my 650 chopper stopped working last year this gave me the motivation to get it started back up again.

check the points and condenser ,or electronic ignition
@petermosdell580 Жыл бұрын
That’s got to be a problem with the ignition points. I would whip the points cover off and spin the engine over so you can see what’s happening in there. Fingers crossed, they just need a clean

There's no points here, (CDI Ignition) but if there were it would probably be easier to fix, and cheaper!...

Instead of firing the parts cannon (which is expensive, I have done that many times unfortunately) learn voltage drop testing so you can locate where the problem is. Then you fix or replace that one part. I recommend a book how to diagnose and repair motorcycle electrical systems by tracy martin. It is worth it's weight in gold.

"these are all oxidated (oxidised) so I'ma just use the super thread impact stripper to get 'em out".. Problem is when you try to tighten them up again! Use some penetrating fluid, like WD40 or similar (other penetrating fluids are available!) and try gently turning them with a socket before you destroy all the threads! And, those coil terminals should be attached to the wires by flat bayonet connectiors not by a soldered connection, they wouldn't have come from Yamaha like that!

Dead starter motor, they can spin but be dead and pulling voltage so hard to diagnose 🤷🏼
@Thunder_Bear_mg Жыл бұрын
if that's the case, maybe she can try to kick start it to test that theory. In other words, check for spark while kicking it over.
@YouStink-or6xc Жыл бұрын
I hope theyve tried kicking it 😂 Or its not a clutch safety cut out (no clutch in, no start) Lovin the boston accent regardless
