Just came here to thank you! I was able to do everything in just 3 hours with: portable grinder to remove the welding on the caps, a driller for the weld on the baffles and WD-40 + screwdriver + hammer + pliers to remove the baffles. It was an easy and smooth process!

Great video with detailed instructions :) I would just put rivet nuts into the baffles themselves and then put them back on with screws before the inspection :)

I had to warm the baffles with a blowtorch before getting them loose. Great video.

bloody hell I thought that with old bikes like this the exhaust system went straight through to the baffel, i didn't realise there was this massive exhaust box lol
@JadusMotorcycleParts4 жыл бұрын
yeah crazy right! I think this was the precursor to what we see on most modern bikes now - headers into a collector box, then out to a silencer.

work done today. thanks to your instructions. it was hard to remove them but in the end the sound is spectacular. Is it necessary to regulate the carburetion?
@JadusMotorcycleParts Жыл бұрын
Hi! Great you managed to remove them. You will most likely not need to adjust your main jets but you should definitely adjust your air/fuel screw setting to allow more fuel at low rpms. It should be adjusted to between 3-4 turns out.

Great video! Did you need to change the main jets? What was the right size jets in such case?
@JadusMotorcycleParts3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yepp, main jets and air/fuel screw was adjusted. We have our intake kit installed on this bike so the jetting is different if you still have the stock intake set up.

Why not cutting the Baffles in a Half or more and then move it back in, so maybe you have to do this once in a time? Would it not sounds louder anyway?
@JadusMotorcycleParts4 жыл бұрын
Good idea! You could absolutely do that! Not sure how good the sound would be but would definitely be better than stock :)

Hey! very informative video that gives hope for tomorrow. such a question, I have an XV400, for my engine I understand correctly that it will play the same way, having a stock intake
@JadusMotorcycleParts3 жыл бұрын
Yes, by looking at the XV400, this kit would work for that bike as well.

@@JadusMotorcycleParts Okay, can you also tell me what jets you used for idling? or these settings do not affect the removal of the inner part of the muffler? Thank you
@TheXeago3 жыл бұрын
How much louder is it than stock exhaust now? Does it get obnoxious on longer rides? Love the xv535 content btw, going to buy one soon :D
@JadusMotorcycleParts3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yes, you should get one, they are great bikes. We think the debaffled sound ends up being just about right. It has a really nice, deep v-twin sound, without hurting your eardrums like the straight pipes do!

How did u adjust the carps for no baffle mode? I really like the sound after u removed the baffles, and i wan't to do the same on mine, but i'm afraid to do it without jetting

Is it possible to use debaffeled exhaust without replacing the jet?
@JadusMotorcycleParts2 жыл бұрын
Yes it is possible but we would not recommend it. Your exhaust system will flow better allowing more flow into the cylinder (more air) and this increased flow should be matched with more fuel, otherwise you will have a lean/leaner condition.
@belmondoe96433 жыл бұрын
Is it safe or suitable to debuffle this exhaust while having stock intake and air filter system? I saw your video about some nice mod of yours but and here is my question
@JadusMotorcycleParts3 жыл бұрын
Hi! Yepp, it is fine to do this mod with the stock intake system. Just make sure you screw out your air/fuel screw 1/2 to 1 full turn and probably best to go up a couple of sizes on the main jet.
@Mr_DocQ3 жыл бұрын
Hello. Have you started doing exhaust system upgrades like in the video? what parts did you change after that?

Hey man! I was just wondering, what is the consumption after removing those baffles
@JadusMotorcycleParts2 жыл бұрын
No sure man, we have not done any testing on that as it has never been a problem/consideration for us. Some of our customers would know though so you could try the same question on the Virago facebook groups :)

Hey man! Yes it would definitely work in that scenario. Although it would be best to cover it with something - only in case of rain. All other debris is no problem but moisture into the intake would not be good. Cheers.
