Hi, my I ask you about the valve adjustment? I had my engine serviced by a mechanic, he checked the valves, they are in a good condition. He checked the gaps, the valves were too tight so he adjusted them. The problem is, I had the valves adjusted like 3 times within a span of 1 thousand km, and it doesn't make sense why the valves keep getting tight. And I mean absolutely tight. Would you know why is it happening?

Just want to say thanks. Many CV carbs are a bit different in how the diaphragms are retained. For example this old Yamaha I am working on. The most valuable piece of information, and critical one, in your video is the orientation of the slide hole to the carb in/out ports. Two of my 4 carbs have loose diaphragms that the round slide can turn. With your tips, I have glued them and tapped the clamps really tight. They do not turn now. This bike has been parked abandoned for over 15 years. By the time I am done, I am certain it will run good or better than ever

Hey guys , excellent video . I have a general question. I installed the kit with no issues. I currently have some straight through drag pipes with custom bafflers installed. Could you give me a rough idea of how many turns/screws I should be adjusting my air/fuel ratio to ? i'm getting a lot of popping when idling and deaccelerating. Even seen a few blue flame pops. I'd be grateful for any advice from the community. safe riding chaps

can it damage the engine overtime? reduce its lifespan in anyway? theoretically the engine wasn't made to support a higher power, right? like harleys are "tanks" downgraded from factory, they are known to support it...

Where is your battery. My son's 185 is right below the air filter. It's only a 150 CCA and after a few starts( he is learning to ride) I have to charge it. Yes it is a new battery. I m thinking if I modified the Air filter like you have and modify the battery box we might be able to get a bigger battery in. Thoughts?

work done today. thanks to your instructions. it was hard to remove them but in the end the sound is spectacular. Is it necessary to regulate the carburetion?
@JadusMotorcycleParts7 ай бұрын
Hi! Great you managed to remove them. You will most likely not need to adjust your main jets but you should definitely adjust your air/fuel screw setting to allow more fuel at low rpms. It should be adjusted to between 3-4 turns out.

With a debaffled exhaust do i need to rejet the carburetors or can i leave the bike as it is? I don't understand if it's dangerous for the bike or not...
@JadusMotorcycleParts7 ай бұрын
If you have the stock intake, you most likely will not need to adjust the main jets. But you should definitely adjust the air/fuel screw so that it is between 3-4 turns out. This is so you allow more fuel to flow at lower rpms. If you have a modified intake you should adjust the main jets as well.

Hi, To my experience and understanding, you don't have to remove the top ring, it's only to reinforce the diaphragm from sliding off from above, you can rotate the ring easily, and it's not holding on to rubber. Only the bottom plastic ring is holding tight to the diaphragm. Instead of sliding the diaphragm from the top, you can slide it gently from the bottom holding slide upside down and bring it to its original top position. One thing I am confused about is the bottom plastic ring. I think it has an important role since it works as a spacer for inner side of the slide seat probably to stop gas leakage coming in contact with a diaphragm. What do you think?
@JadusMotorcycleParts8 ай бұрын
@mcrand7887 Thanks for your concern, but in this case, the plastic parts need to be removed to be able to install this particular replacement diaphragm. There are other kits that have different designs, but we do not have any experience with them. We have the same response to your inquiry about the lower plastic ring. And you are incorrect on your third assumption about the lower ring needing to be there to form a seal and to keep fuel away from the diaphragm. This replacement becomes the new seal and maintains the original dimensions of the original diaphragm, just with one part instead of a three part design. The rubber of these diaphragms is also extremely durable and tolerant of fuel, so if they get fuel on them it is not a concern at all. All the best!

My ninja 300 has a whine and it starts whining as soon as I start it but is MUCH more noticeable when it’s warmed up and it gets really annoying. My 1st and 2nd gear seem a little bit slower but I haven’t stalled in 1st while at a light yet. It’s a very annoying whine that gets louder around 20kph It could be my garbage fairings that won’t connect properly, I’ll try some tape on those to stop wind from getting in but if it’s not that then I’d love some thoughts on what it may be as I have no experience with working on my bike solo and don’t know what to look for.

@JadusMotorcycleParts Жыл бұрын
Hi! I am not sure what you mean… Do you mean the oil filler cap? The stock one is plastic and the one I have installed here is a metal one with an oil temperature guage in it!
@thevixty3006 Жыл бұрын
Hey man. Really curios about your opinion. How bad is it if the engine leaks oil from the top of the back cilinder ?
@JadusMotorcycleParts Жыл бұрын
It depends... old bikes in general leak oil in some places due to different reasons. It could be just a simple thing like a tired hardened oring that isn't forming a seal any more... or it could be leaking from around the cam chain tunnel... those things are no big deal. As long as you keep an eye on the oil level until you decide to replace orings and gaskets etc. It is worse if the head is leaking oil through the valve seals, then the engine performance is affected. It is also more difficult to replace those seals - it is often a head-off job.

Different models and years have different stock main jets. We send a range of jets in the kit with a jetting guide so that customers can match jetting to their exhaust system. This also allows for carb adjustments down the road if you want to install a different exhaust system :)
