You did a goo,d job on the bike. The spokes wheels come from what bike? I'm building one but is more cafe racer I build my own subframe. I like where you place the battery box thanks for that.

Thanks man! I appreciate it. The wheels are from a xv 700 which are spoked from the factory. I’ve had them ‘respoked’ to 2 17 inch wheels. Stock the rear is a 15 inch and the front a 19 inch. Hope that helps! Good luck.

loved your work dude!! i have some questions if you have the time to answer. the seat frame was custom made or did you bought it? also how did you accomplished this shiny metal look on the tank? just polishing or did you use any chemical?
@LeftlaneOdyssey3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment my man! I bought subframe from caferacerunited/CafeRacerWebshop.com They have a couple of versions so definitely check them out. Getting the tank shiny was pretty hard. I had it sand blasted to get all the paint off. After that started started sanding starting with 80 grit next 120, 180, 220 etc. Etc. Up to 400. After that 3 coats of a 2k clear. A full days work but definitely worth it! I was going for shiny metal instead of almost chrome look. But that’s also doable just way more sanding! If you have any other questions let me know!

@@LeftlaneOdyssey that was very helpful.. i want to build something similar.. take a choper kind of bike and turn it to something in the middle of chopper and cafe racer like a triumph bonevile kind of bike.. something like you did but i want the seat to be larger so i can take a 2 person or some baggs because i like to travel. did you lift the frame or did you do any wielding with the new seat frame? im trying to understan how to merge the seat frame into the frame of the bike.

This subframe bolts straight on. I did weld some brackets on there for the electronics box. You could lengthen it by welding a bend that sticks out further. Also making one from scratch shouldnt be too hard if you know how to weld!

Didn’t raise the frame or anything still using the stock shock. Xv750/920 is the perfect platform if that’s something you wanna do. Lots of aftermarket support!

I did! At the end of the video you can see the end result of the build. Should’ve made a dedicated video for that but Kind of forgot😑

What's the size of ur headers?
@LeftlaneOdyssey3 жыл бұрын
Tbh with you I don’t recall. I’d have to look it up. What I do remember is that the inner diameter was a couple of millimeter bigger than original. The originals pipes are ‘double walled’ not sure what the correct term for that is but basically 2pipes overlapping each other. I chose to not do that with my own. They get a lot hotter but they’re holding up great. TLDR; a couple mm bigger than original maybe 2 maybe 3 not a lot
